Jessica Power had a pair of Sportsman at the practice and talked about his racing at Fulton helped.

I had a nice afternoon as I headed up to where it all started for me and had some fun watching the first practice of the year at Fulton Speedway. It was nice to see everyone and great to smell all those smells we only get at a racetrack. It was a blast!

I put six of the fourteen interviews I did up for you today and will put more up tomorrow. Don’t forget that Utica Rome Speedway is kicking off their season tonight with twin 20’s for Sprints plus Mods, Sportsman and Pro Stocks. If I get done early enough I’ll head out so we’ll see what happens.

Allie has her first race day today at the NYS Fairgrounds and she is as excited as can be. She is running in a division where everyone else has experience so the question is not if she will get lapped today the question is how many times? She will get better every week I am sure and with Jon and Michelle Kuleszo behind her as car owners the future is bright. Thanks so much guys!!!

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page for today starting with my first interview on Saturday. Mike Button got ready for his first laps of the year at Fulton Speedway’s practice and talked about what he will be racing in 2017 as well as what he was seeing with the racetrack.

Tommy Sears just finished his first practice laps on a very fats racetrack and talked about his new motor and car combination while wondering if he’ll hit Utica Rome later today.

Ryan Jordan took his first ever laps in a big block at the Fulton Speedway practice and described an issue they had in practice as well as how the Outlaw 200 convinced him to become a Fulton regular.

Jessica Power had a pair of Sportsman at the practice and talked about his racing at Fulton weekly in 2016 helped her develop as a driver and her plans to run Fulton and Cornwall regularly.

We’re back today with more good stuff as we look to a few tracks that will be running later today. There is a lot going on and I hope you get to get out there and see some racing. Bring your winter gear as it will be cold but hopefully the racing will be so exciting you’ll forget all about it.

I will be at the Fulton Speedway practice today hoping to see some old friends and make some new ones. Allie’s first race is tomorrow so we’ll be at the NYS Fairgrounds and if it gets done early enough Utica Rome after that although it will be tough with the 4 p.m. start time.

Pete Stefanski
gets ready for Sunday in Vernon and wonders how much traveling he may do.
Craig Pritchard tells me about his return to racing and how his first practice laps went last week.

I had a really nice day with the kids on Thursday as I drove out to Utica and visited some of the places I used to go when I was in the TV business at WCNY. A lot has changed in Utica but it was fun to get back to some places I know well and get some good memories going as I contemplate my long term future.

We also met up with Camille’s cousin and got some pastries from Caffe Caruso which is owned by Camille’s relatives. We visited the MWPAI museum, the Hotel Utica and the train station as well. Every stop we made brought back so many memories or my time in TV and it was a great day.

On the way home we headed out to see Claude Hutchings Jr. and Sr. and get some dinner in Sauquoit. I got see the big block and the Sportsman and catch up on how everyone is doing. It was the perfect end to the day and we also have lots of fine Italian Pastries to eat. Yum!

Craig Pritchard tells me about his return to racing in an Open Sportsman, why he feels the time is right to get back to racing for the first time since 2003 and how well his first practice laps went last week.

Brent Ayers described the new racing surface he was at the Outlaw Speedway practice on Friday.
Bill Shea previews the Utica Rome opener on Sunday and talks about the move to DIRTcar.

It was a cold and rainy day in Central New York and it sounds like we’ll have one more of those days before the weekend gets here. The good news is that it should be out of here early on Friday so we’re hoping it does not mess up our race plans.

I have a pair of interviews up for you today as we get closer to the weekend and closer to full capacity in the local racing world. Each weekend now more tracks will open and by May we’ll be at full song and have more races you can go to than you can shake a stick at. I never quite got that phrase did you?

We’ll also be trying to get everything straight as we look ahead to a busy weekend starting on Thursday as Sprint Cars visit Outlaw Speedway. Today will be a fun day for us as we’ll be practicing with Allie over at the New York State Fairgrounds as she’ll get her second day inside the Jon and Michell Kuleszo owned open wheel microd. She needs as many laps as she can get and we hope to really get her comfortable in the car ahead of this Sunday’s opener.

I’ll be off for that but will be back tomorrow with more from my Friday practice at Outlaw Speedway. It is going to be a fun weekend and it will get started early as Outlaw Speedway gets going on Thursday and Friday of this weekend. I should be at Friday’s show with an outside chance of making it on Thursday but we’ll see how it goes.

I’ll be back in the studio again today and we’ll have a new column up for you tomorrow on Syracuse/com and inside the Syracuse Post Standard. The kids are off this week so we’ll try to get a few road trips under our belt and find some cool things for them to so during Spring Break.
