New on the Audio Page from the DIRTcar Banquet in Liverpool:

Rob Yetman talked to the audience about winning the Pro Stock Super DIRTcar Series championship.
Dave Marcuccilli spoke to me about winning the Sportsman SDS and ran down some of the key races.
Steve Bernard told Shane Andrews about his 358 Modified SDS title and thanked his dad for his help.
Matt Sheppard and I spoke about SDS Modified title and how he came back after the suspension.
Pat Ward finished fourth on the Super DIRTcar Series and talked about what he is doing at the shop.
Larry Wight waited on the birth of his first child and spoke about the 358 plans he has for Fulton.

I had a long day but a fun on Saturday as I started my day at the NYS Fairgrounds at the Northeast Racing Products show and ended it at the DIRTcar Banquet in Liverpool as Allie got to attend that event for the first time.

The attendance was way up on Saturday at the NE Racing Products show and the auction was cranking with several cars including the new chassis going across the block. I’ll tell you what. I missed the boat. I should have been an auctioneer. Now there’s some fast talking. And the best make good money as they get a percentage. Yep. I missed my chance.

I got 15 interviews done at that show and had a blast. At 5 p.m., as planned, I headed back home to pick up Allie and head to the Holiday Inn in Liverpool. It’s a place she knows well as we hang out there a lot during the Syracuse Nationals. She loved it and as always Shane Andrews is the best at it. And Magic Lou had a lot of fun with Matt Sheppard too. It was a lot of fun as always.

All but two of the interviews today are mine as the Steve Bernard and Rob Yetman ones were recorded from the banquet over some speakers that just didn’t sound as good as I had hoped. I have another one I did with Yetman at the show that I’ll air later in the week and I do need to call Steve Bernard. I realized I have never interviewed him. If you can help, send me a message at doug@dougsdirtdiary.com.

Today I plan to be in the studio for a long time. I’m hoping to go from 2-7 p.m. so if you want in message me either with an email or on Facebook as I’ll have that up the whole time. I don’t want to bug you guys this holiday week and I want to make sure I have a lot of great stuff all the way through next Sunday.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page as we now have an addition 33 interviews in the can for release over the next week. Rob Yetman talked to the audience about winning the Pro Stock Super DIRTcar Series championship as well as his five Super DIRT Week wins in a row.

Dave Marcuccilli spoke to me about winning the Sportsman SDS and ran down some of the key races that helped him get the title as well as how the new regional/playoff format helped.

Steve Bernard told Shane Andrews about winning the 358 Modified SDS title for the second time in three years and thanked his dad for his help as he joined him on stage.

Matt Sheppard and I spoke about SDS Modified title, his sixth in the last eight years, and how his mindset change after the suspension helped him march to the top of the points. Good one here!

Pat Ward finished fourth on the Super DIRTcar Series and talked about the big change for next year at Fulton Speedway as well as what he is doing at the shop.

Larry Wight waited on the birth of his first child and spoke about the 358 plans he has for Fulton Speedway where he will run a motor costing $17,500 that is made by LJL Kevlar. Hmm.

It was a super fun day as I met up with a lot of race people at the Northeast Racing Products show in Syracuse. It was a nice show with a lot of action and it got busier and busier as the day rolled on The hard core types like me were there in the afternoon and then it really picked up after that.

Today is going to be fun as the auction headlines the day’s activities and there are a bunch of cars and frames that will go to a new home this afternoon. That by the way starts at 2 p.m. I’ll be there before then and stay till 5 p.m. loading up along the way to make sure you have a good deal of stuff to listen to this week.

After that Allie will join me at the DIRTcar Banquet and buy is she looking forward to that. She has only been to two banquets as she went to the ESS one last year and of course her Syracuse Microd Banquet, which by the way was a heck of a lot better than I thought it would be.

It was another very cool day for me as I got a lot done in a short period of time. I did some interviews in the afternoon, again at the NYS Fairgrounds and still had time to spend some time with a friend of mine who is in from Illinois.

We’ll be at the Northeast Racing Products show today as Allie needs to get her race suit embroidered and I need to talk with some friends. After that my buddy is playing a show in Camillus and then we’ll do it all over again on Saturday.

While at the fairgrounds last night I saw some cars coming in for the auction and it looks like there will be some cars there for sure. I saw an IMCA Mod, a Sportsman and a few stocks cars of various configurations. Hey, you know how stock cars are nowadays. Very few are the same anymore.
