New on the Audio Page for today:

Marc Johnson tells me how he found a ride in a TQ Midget for this weekend’s big races in Albany.
Travis Smith talks about his move up to Modified for 2018 and how he bowled back to back 300's.

We had a snow day for the kids on Wednesday even though we only had about four to five inches of snow. I was a little surprised but the kids didn’t mind it at all. After snowblowing the driveway I took a drive to do some errands as I do still love driving around town in the snow. Not so happy on the Thruway in the snow with all the crazies who think they can drive but I love driving the snowy roads around town.

I got some work done in the studio and was able to get ahead by a day heading into a busy race weekend. We’ve got a lot to keep our eyes on this weekend and I hope your favorite form of racing is on track and I hope you get to see it and maybe even be a part of it. Have fun and be safe guys and gals.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page including a follow up with a driver who was offered a ride just hours after we spoke with him last week. Marc Johnson tells me how he found a ride in a TQ Midget for this weekend’s big races in Albany, describes how they got him comfortable in the car and his modest goals for both days.

Travis Smith talks about his move up to Modified for 2018, why he got a little bit of a late start in 2017 with his Sportsman and how he bowled back to back 300 games Tuesday night.

Doug Manmiller recaps his two win season at Grandview and talks about the new racecars in his shop.
Jeff Rockefeller tells me why he did not race much in 2017 and why we’ll be seeing him more in 2018.

I had a nice day off on Tuesday as I got a lot done and was able to hit the lanes with our bowling team. I’ll be back at it today both in the studio and for Syracuse.com. Find out what we wrote about by checking them out on Thursday.

I have a pair of well known Modified racers on the site today for you to enjoy and each of them is working on new racecars in their shop and each plan on hitting the road more this season. I am so happy when I hear from drivers who really have it going on and we hope each of them wins early and often.

Now let’s chat a little bit more about these two new interviews available right now on our Audio Page for you to listen to. Doug Manmiller recaps his two win season at Grandview and talks about the new racecars in his shop as well as his hopes to travel a bit more with a second car.

Glenn Styres talked about his season ending crash, how he’s doing now and what’s new at Ohsweken.
Tony Veneziano reports on the first three All Star 410 Sprint Car races from Bubba Raceway Park.

I had a really fun weekend and a great day on Monday as I got a lot done both writing and in the studio. I’ll be off today as I have a ton of things to get done before bowling tonight and will be very busy this afternoon.

And don’t forget that racing action resumes tomorrow night with the All Stars heading to Volusia and of course the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars kick off their season this Friday. We’ll have a preview up for you to get you ready.

Tomorrow we’ll hear from a pair of Modified racers as they prepare for their season and we’re looking forward to Daytona as I am so race starved right now. There are a lot of changes in NASCAR this year and it will be interesting to follow to say the least.

Dylan Westbrook told me about his 20 win season as well as his plans to race down in Florida.

A new week is here and I hope you all got to bed early enough last night so you weren’t tired. Boy I wish they’d start that a little earlier don’t you?

We have a couple of nice chats today with some drivers who are getting ready to head to the Sunshine State for some early season fun. If any of you are going and want to let people know about it give me a shout at doug@dougsdirtdiary.com or hit me up on facebook. One of these years I am going to have to do this.

Marc Johnson describes some changes at his shop for 2018 and talks about small blocks on Sunday.
Brad Steinruck talked about the upgraded Street Stock he purchased and how it is coming along.

I had a nice day yesterday as I got a lot done in the studio and hope to get more done today before it gets closer to the big game. Unlike a lot of folks I have no rooting interest in this game and am only hoping it is entertaining.

WE are having a few people over today and Allie will be doing some of the cooking. Dad is brining pizza and wings and we are looking forward to getting together and watching the game. Maybe I’ll talk to one of you beforehand.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a man who is very busy in his shop right now and has some tough decisions to make. Marc Johnson describes some changes at his shop for 2018, explains why he likes the new Troyer TD1 so much and talks about small blocks on Sunday.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Brandon Kidd talks about his race at Daytona International Speedway in an Aston Martin Vantage.
Max McLaughlin told me how he signed with Niece Motorsports to do 4 Camping World Truck races.

That little bit of snow we were supposed to get turned into 5 inches here in Central New York as snowblowers were given their second work out of the week. This is about the time of year when the snow is not as much fun as it was and I am officially ready for it to be over. I just know if Mother Nature is as ready as I am.

I have a couple of good ones today with young racers who are getting to fulfill their dreams of racing at the big time level. We are so proud of each of these young men and which them all the best in their racing careers.

Let’s talk a little more about the young men we’ll be hearing from today on the Audio Page as we get ready for Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow. Brandon Kidd talks about his race at Daytona International Speedway in an Aston Martin Vantage, described a problem the team had right before he jumped into the car and how much fun the road course is at Daytona Cool!

Max McLaughlin told me how he signed with Niece Motorsports to do 4 Camping World Truck races, how the deal came about and where that first race in a truck may take place. Wow!

Marc Minutolo talks about his stock cars and his racing benefit tomorrow night at 6 in Newark.
Pat DaBiere recalls his days as an announcer & racer and explains how he got into stand up comedy.

I had a totally awesome day on Thursday as I learned a lot, visited with some old friends and catch up on how everyone is doing. It could not have been a better day and I count my blessing every day after what happened almost one year ago. I put a plan together and it is moving along well. I am excited as to what the future holds.

We’ll be in the studio late afternoon today as I have some business to take care of before that. I hope to load up tonight and tomorrow as Sunday will be a tough day to get work done. Something about a big football game from what I’m hearing…

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page as we begin with a reminder about a race party in Newark. Marc Minutolo talks about his stock cars that he ran at Outlaw and Canandaigua, the growth of the Hobby Stock division his previews his racing benefit tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at the VFW in Newark.
