It was another day for me and my family as we headed out to Finger Lakes Speedworld in Auburn. I got there late to catch people when the loaded up and it was a really nice turnout even late in the day on Sunday. Great job by everyone involved.

I did some interviews, chatted with some people I know from the Syracuse Microd Club and worked on an idea for a future story. Look for that after the big show in Syracuse.

I also had a nice chat with Jamie Moore who had the first radically off-set Jim Shampine Supermodified on display. It was the big draw at the show and it was great to see Jamie looking as good as he did. Come back tomorrow for that one and make sure you have some time to sit down and get comfortable as it is a long one. I know you’ll love it!

I had a great time on Saturday as I headed south to Johnson City for Southern Tier Speedworld at the Oakdale Mall. They had a really nice turnout and there were lots of racecars and lots of people on hand. I made sure to talk to some people who I could tell were not part of our little racing family and hopefully they’ll get to a local track this year and like it!

Mike Stacey talks about his 2018 Sportsman season and remembers his start in racing on the ice.
J.J. Courcy told me about the five different styles of cars he drove in 2017 and runs down his plans.

That was quite the storm wasn’t it? It dumped over a foot of heavy, wet snow on us here and it was not easy to get rid of. As I type this up at 8:45 p.m. it looks like it may have stopped. Just in time too as I have to hit the road today.

I’ll be going to Johnson City today for Southern Tier Speedworld and then tomorrow I’ll be heading to Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn for Finger Lakes Speedworld. I love these pre-season mall shows as it is a great way for us to show the non-racing public what we’re all about.

Make sure to spend some money at the malls, wear your gear and tell the people at the registers why you are there. It helps keep these things going. So that is your homework okay?

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page for today as we feature a pair of Sportsman racers. Mike Stacey talks about his 2018 Sportsman season, how he did in some late season specials and remembers his start in racing on the ice as a teenager.
