I had another great day on Tuesday and worked for most of the day. I got lucky and ran into pro bowler Tommy Jones at my local bowling ally and was able to chat with him about the tournament taking place this week in Syracuse. I know a lot of you are bowlers and I know you’ll like it. For the rest of you give it a listen as he is one of the best on the tour.

I also have an update from the North Country with a reminder to head to Salmon Run Mall in Watertown for their first car show in quite some time. Of course wear your race gear and make sure the people in the stores know why you’re there. Be on your best behavior and show the mall your support.

Tyler Siri previews Fruday's practice at Outlaw Speedway, runs down some of the specifics for the race tams and tells me how the speedway property looked on Tuesday morning.

Dean Catlin talks about Skyline Raceway’s practice this Saturday and described how things looked.

I had a good day on Monday as I got another story written for the Syracuse Post Standard/Syracuse.com and got a lot of work done in the home studio as well. Two of the chats I did are up today and you’ll be getting three more tomorrow too.

I don’t know about you but I am feeling a little more optimistic after hearing the weather forecast for later in the week and for this weekend. We may have to get through a couple of wet days which could affect what happens this weekend but at least they are not calling for snow.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a racer who hopes to hit the track this Saturday.    New on the Audio Page for today:

Ben Bushaw talks about racing with his son again this year and updates me on his Sportsman plans.
Bill Suave told me about his move up to Sportsman for 2018 after two years in the Novice class.
Bill Shea updates us on how Utica Rome Speedway looks right now and looks over their schedule.

I had a really fun day on Sunday as we headed out to Romulus to work on the racecars at the Kuleszo racing garage. We got everything done that we needed to and the cars are now ready to hit the track this Sunday.

It was so much fun and we learned so much especially on scaling a car. It is amazing how many twists and turns it takes to get the right rear percentage, the right cross weight and the right tire pressures to get it where you need it to be. I’m learning a lot and loving it!

After we got back we got right into the studio and we’ll be back in there again today. Plus we’ll get with Allie this week and get her thoughts as she gets ready for her second year behind the wheel. We are so fortunate to hook up with the Kuleszos to race and become good friends too. It’s all great here! Hope your world is a happy place too!

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page for today as we get ready for another week with some improving weather ahead. Ben Bushaw talks about racing with his son again this year, wonders if he may need to get a second car and updates me on his own Sportsman plans.

Bill Suave told me about his move up to Sportsman for 2018 after two years in the Novice class, evaluated how he has been doing and explains how his racing benefit helps.

Bill Shea updates us on how Utica Rome Speedway looks right now, describes what areas of the property need to improve before the first race and looks over their 2018 schedule.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Joe “Geezer” Fanelli talks about his rookie season driving a Modified at Grandview Speedway.
Andrew Ferguson talks about how he puts his benefit together and where that money gets spent.

We had a fun day as we were all over the place. We started at the NYS Fairgrounds as it was clean up day for the Syracuse Microd & Quarter Midget Club. It was snowing while work was taking place and that probably was the main reason everything got done so quickly. Nice job everyone!

Then we headed to the Kyle DeMetro racing benefit for a pig roast and ended up walking out with a new tool box filled with tools that I wish I could use and a snack pack. It was fun seeing everyone and watching Allie’s reaction when she won the tool box. Not many 15 year old girls will scream when they win tools but Allie did that very thing.

Today we are heading out to Romulus to help as much was we can to get the Kuleszo Racing cars together for next week’s fun race. We’re going to learn a lot I’m sure as that is Allie’s big goal for this year. Results..ehh. But learning about racing is the big goal as she wants to work in the sport later and as we know, most who work in racing never raced. Darned near all of them wanted to but most never did. Could give her an advantage.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for today as we have a pair of Modified drivers for you to listen to. Joe “Geezer” Fanelli talks about his rookie season in a Modified on Saturdays at Grandview Speedway, how last weekend’s practice went for him and how he adjusted to the tough competition.

Andrew Ferguson talks about how he puts his benefit together, where that money gest spent during the season and how he first got the idea to do one for his team.

Ryan Susice reminds us about his race party today in Niagara Falls and talks about his race plans.
Brent Joy updates me on how his Sportsman is coming along and recapped his season at 2 tracks.

I had a nice day but a slow as I stayed up way too late on Thursday night as a friend I had not seen in quite sometime stopped in. We stayed up late racing and playing strat-o-matic baseball and had a great time. But I had quite the headache when I woke up. Oops!

I have a fun day on tap for today as I begin my day at the NYS Fairgrounds at clean up day for the Syracuse Microd and Quarter Midget Club. Then I’m off to Vernon for Kyle DeMetro’s race party at the Utica Rome Speedway Club. Ton the way back I stop by a friend’s house as he is nice to enough to give us some money for Allie’s racing. Thank you so much Scotty!

New on the Audio Page for today:

Jon Rohacevich explains why he did not run much last year and why he hopes to race more in 2018.
Chris Mackey talks about his two weekly homes in 2017 and what makes each track so special.

I had a busy day on Thursday as I did some work in the afternoon before heading out to see how things are coming along at land of Legends Raceway. I did a Facebook Live video with Paul Cole and I hope you all had a chance to watch it. If you are not facebook friends with me shoot me a message and as long as there is racing on your page somewhere I’ll okay your request.

I got back a little later than I originally planned as I just love to talk racing but was fortunate enough to get two people on for you today so a big thanks to both of the drivers you see up today. I’ll be back at it again today and I’ll be hoping to get a little ahead as I have a busy weekend planned.

Saturday we have clean up day at the 1/10 mile track at the NYS Fairgrounds and then I have a benefit for Kyle DeMetro after that. Kyle is having a pig roast at the Speedway Club out front at Utica Rome Speedway so I hope to see some of you there. I’ll have my mic and recorder with me and I’ll be ready to go.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page today as we visit with a couple of guys I haven’t chatted with in a while. Jon Rohacevich explains why he did not run much last year with his Super Late Model, why he hopes to race more in 2018 and discusses the pros and cons of double file restarts.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Ernie Saxton previews Saturday’s opener at Grandview and remembers his first day at the track.
Paul Cole explains why the Land of Legends practice was canceled and an issue they had yesterday.

We had an adventurous day on Wednesday and I know a lot of you did. We had a tree fall on power lines just two houses down from us. Our power never went out but it flickered and dimmed several times. Let’s hope we dodge a bullet the rest of the night too. Hoping you all did too!

I hustled in the studio on Wednesday and during the Ernie Saxton interview I thought we were going to lose power on three separate occasions. I kept going fast to make sure I got all this done before something happened. Fortunately everything worked out and here we are hoping for a less action filled day today.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a look ahead to a big race in Pennsylvania. Ernie Saxton previews Saturday’s opener at Grandview honoring Bruce Rogers, remembers his first day at the track back in 1967 and talks about the bond between workers in the tower. Good stuff!

Paul Cole explains why the Land of Legends practice was canceled, an issue they had yesterday and updated us on how renovations are coming along.
