New on the Audio Page for today:

Ryan Jordan talked about the engine he just got back and his very aggressive plans for this year.
Bill Knapp told me about his switch to a GM crate engine in his Pro Stock after running Fords since 94.

I had a nice day as we were all feeling much better after our battle with a bug on Thursday and Friday. I went to see my youngest daughter’s dance recital and then got to work. I have two of the three I recorded up today with pans to do more today.

Our race for today got cancelled so Allie will have to wait another week to get on the track but it was smart move by the club. Our team has to travel from Romulus to Syracuse in the morning and it was going to be icy in the morning so I was quite worried. Now we’ll wait till next week and hopefully it will be 70 and sunny. Hey, I guy can hope can’t he?

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page for today as we finish out the weekend by staying warm and inside. Ryan Jordan talked about the engine he just got back and his very aggressive plans for this year that include big blocks, DIRT Legal 358’s and open small blocks.

Bill Knapp told me about his switch to a GM crate engine in his Pro Stock after running Fords since 1994, what he had to change to make the switch and why he feels that now is the time to go for it.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Rusty Smith gets ready for a practice today and talks about his plans and both dirt and asphalt.
Ricky Newton describes the little things he has to wrap up on his car and why he likes Canandaigua.

We had a rough day as a 24 hour bug worked it’s way through our house. My wife had it yesterday and both Allie and I got it on Friday. She got it first and then I got it at about mid morning. So I had to hustle at the end of the day just to get something up for you guys today.

I’ll be in the studio again today in late afternoon as my youngest has a dance recital. I’d Facebook live it but she is not as outgoing as Allie and won’t let me do that. How did those two grow up in the same house and turn out so different.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page as we begin with a driver who has already ben in the track this year. Rusty Smith gets ready for a practice today at Five Mile Point, tells me how Wednesday’s practice went with his older car and talks about his plans and both dirt and asphalt.

Ricky Newton describes the little things he has to wrap up on his car to be ready for next weekend’s opener, why he likes the configuration in Canandaigua and the competitive field in Weedsport.

We have a lot up for you today and if everything goes as planned we should be back with more tomorrow from an actual racetrack. Keep your fingers crossed as Mother Nature could be a pain here and keep us all home. Let’s hope not.

I had another great day on Tuesday and worked for most of the day. I got lucky and ran into pro bowler Tommy Jones at my local bowling ally and was able to chat with him about the tournament taking place this week in Syracuse. I know a lot of you are bowlers and I know you’ll like it. For the rest of you give it a listen as he is one of the best on the tour.

I also have an update from the North Country with a reminder to head to Salmon Run Mall in Watertown for their first car show in quite some time. Of course wear your race gear and make sure the people in the stores know why you’re there. Be on your best behavior and show the mall your support.

I don’t know about you but I am feeling a little more optimistic after hearing the weather forecast for later in the week and for this weekend. We may have to get through a couple of wet days which could affect what happens this weekend but at least they are not calling for snow.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Ben Bushaw talks about racing with his son again this year and updates me on his Sportsman plans.
Bill Suave told me about his move up to Sportsman for 2018 after two years in the Novice class.
Bill Shea updates us on how Utica Rome Speedway looks right now and looks over their schedule.

I had a really fun day on Sunday as we headed out to Romulus to work on the racecars at the Kuleszo racing garage. We got everything done that we needed to and the cars are now ready to hit the track this Sunday.

It was so much fun and we learned so much especially on scaling a car. It is amazing how many twists and turns it takes to get the right rear percentage, the right cross weight and the right tire pressures to get it where you need it to be. I’m learning a lot and loving it!

After we got back we got right into the studio and we’ll be back in there again today. Plus we’ll get with Allie this week and get her thoughts as she gets ready for her second year behind the wheel. We are so fortunate to hook up with the Kuleszos to race and become good friends too. It’s all great here! Hope your world is a happy place too!
