New on the Audio Page from Land of Legends Raceway’s practice:

Paul Habeck talked about beating throat cancer and how he feels after getting some practice laps.
Brandon Ford explained how his practice session was going and ran down his Sportsman race plans.
Tyler Trump took some laps with his small block and talked about how he was adjusting to it.
Rich Vinson told me why he didn’t race for a while and looks forward to racing with his son.
Kane Bristol was happy with his lap times and ran down how they cycle new tires into the rotation.

I had a fun day as I went to the practice at Land of Legends Raceway. I had to be home by 5:30 for an event with my youngest and I was home before 4:30. Things went smoothly and you’ll hear from the racers how smooth the track was which is just what you want for an opening day practice.

I got a lot of interviews and as always saved most of them as we are racing today with Allie at the NYS Fairgrounds. It is their annual fun race with no points for the drivers. It’s a nice way to ease into the season and we hope to have a smooth day where nobody does any damage to their cars at all right? Right!

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page as racecars hit the track for the first time this year in Ontario County. Paul Habeck talked about beating stage 4 throat cancer, how he feels now that he is cancer free and how he feels after getting in some practice laps.

Brandon Ford explained how his practice session was going and ran down his Sportsman race plans while describing the day job he has that can bring something new every day.

Tyler Trump took some laps with his small block at the Land of Legends Raceway practice and talked about how he was adjusting to it as well as where we will see him race next weekend.

Rich Vinson told me why he didn’t race for a while, described the injury he had to deal with and looks forward to racing this season with his son as they will share their Sportsman.

Kane Bristol was happy with his lap times at the practice in Canandaigua and ran down how they cycle new tires into the rotation while evaluating the track surface he saw.

Jessey Mueller tells me how he set a new track record at Malta and looks forward to Tuesday night.
Tyler Thompson talked about his hopes for today at Outlaw Speedway and his two races so far.

We had a nice day on Friday as we got some work done in the studio and did some other fun things as well. It’s an interesting world we live in today and Allie learned a lot about things on Friday. To say her eyes are wide open would be an understatement.

We’re ready for the weekend as we’ll hit Land of Legends for their practice today and then we’ll be racing tomorrow with the Syracuse Microd Club at the NYS Fairgrounds. It’s a fun race with no points so we’re hoping to be able to get some fast laps in and make some adjustments along the way. No matter what it will fun and we can’t wait.

Jessey Mueller tells me how he set a new track record at Malta’s practice last week, looks forward to the re-scheduled show on Tuesday night and runs down his plans to race weekly on Friday & Sunday.

Lyle DeVore talks about Albany Saratoga Speedway moving tonight’s show to Thursday, April, 24th.
Paul Cole tells me why Land of Legends Raceway postponed Saturday’s race while keeping practice.
Shawn Miller spoke about how he founded Inside Line Promotions and what they do for race teams.

A lot of news came out yesterday as both Albany Saratoga and Land of Legends Raceway each postponed their openers that were set for this weekend. We’ll visit with the people who made those calls today and find out what adjustments they made to deal with Mother Nature.

I’ll be in the studio today getting more stuff to listen to as there is no racing for me to cover today. On Saturday I’ll make it to the Land of Legends practice as we have a thin for my youngest later in the day. That will work out perfectly.

And if everything works out Allie and I should be able to make it to Albany Saratoga this Tuesday. We’re both off from school so I think it would be a great time to head out. I have not been there in close to ten years so I can’t wait.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page today including a first timer with a man who has turned his love of the sport and writing into a full time job, but first...Lyle DeVore talks about Albany Saratoga Speedway moving tonight’s show to Thursday, April, 24th, tells me some of the racers who will be there and reminds you about Lebanon Valley’s opener this Saturday.

Paul Cole tells me why Land of Legends Raceway postponed Saturday’s season opening race while keeping the practice set for Saturday afternoon going.

I had another fun day as I got to do some writing previewing the local racing for this weekend and got into the studio for a while as well. Plus I met someone new thanks to a Facebook request so we are cruising along here.

Not sure exactly what I am doing this weekend as I am jammed up on Saturday but I may be able to hit the practice in Canandaigua ahead of a 4:30 event for my youngest daughter back here. I’ll be hustling for sure on Saturday. And then Sunday we race will Allie so it should be a fun weekend.

Craig Pritchard gets ready for his second year at Afton and tells me about some engine changes.
Tony Veneziano talks about the World of Outlaw rainouts and the two All Star races in Pennsylvania.

I had a sick child home on Monday as that bug that hit the rest of us at the end of last week finally hit my youngest. She stayed home but by the time I wrote this up at 7:30 p.m. she was eating and smiling again. So back to school she will go today.

I’ve been busy here so we have back to back days with three interviews and tomorrow Allie will make her first appearance on the site this year as she gets ready for her first race of the year this Sunday at the NYS Fairgrounds.    New on the Audio Page for today:

Peter Britten talked about his Friday practice at Malta and reflected on his move to America.
Rick Miller tells me how he got back into racing again late last year and what his 2018 plans are.

What a crappy day it was on Sunday huh? We got out pretty easily compared to some of you as we did not get much if any ice and the power stayed on the whole time. Hoping all of you are alright as I saw several of you were without electricity. Hope it comes back soon.

I have two really good ones on the site today as we start up another work week. I was also able to get a few more done after these so it should be a fun week for those of you who like to start your day with me. I also have calls out to a lot of folks so be sure to keep checking back each and every day this week.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page today starting with a racer who suited up on Friday for the first time this year. Peter Britten talked about his Friday practice at Malta and reflected on coming to America as an Australian champion as well as how tough it was adapting those first few seasons. Really good one here!

Rick Miller tells me how he got back into racing again late last year after being off since 2014, why this new deal appealed to him and what his 2018 plans are.
