New on the Audio Page for today:

Mike McLaughlin looked over a 1980’s Showcar Modified and remembered his days working there.
Ricky Newton summed up how he’s doing at Land of Legends and how bad the 1st two weeks were.
Jeff Davoli talked about how things are in Canandaigua and explains how hard he is racing these days.
Tim Hegarty was racing with the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour and remembered last time we chatted.
Tyler Vinson came into racing green in 2018 and talked about his first four race nights in a Sportsman.
Dean Catlin told me what is going on this weekend at Skyline as they race both Saturday and Sunday.

I hope you all had a nice Friday and hope you’re enjoying the first nice weekend we’ve had in a while. Not too hot, not rainy and just about right to get out to your favorite Saturday night track and show your support.

And don’t forget tomorrow the All Star Sprints are in Weedsport and it should be quite the show. 410 Sprint Cars are a blast at this place and I hope all of you that go have a blast. But keep those things on the ground ok? They can make me a little nervous sometimes.

I’ll be somewhere before a much needed house clean-up day tomorrow. We’ve fallen behind on a lot of things here and I need to play some catch up. But we’ll be in the studio tonight and we’ll also have some stuff from my Saturday night up also. And if I have not checked in with your favorite driver just let me know and I’ll get it done for you.

Mike McLaughlin looked over a 1980’s Showcar Modified and remembered his days working there as a young man as well as how he made his way up in the company.

Ricky Newton summed up how he’s doing at Land of Legends and how bad the first two weeks were for him and ran down how much he plans on racing this season.

Jeff Davoli talked about how things are in Canandaigua and explains how hard he is racing these days as well what changes with his Sportsman when you take the spoiler off.

Tim Hegarty was racing with the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour and told me how much he enjoys driving a true vintage car while describing some of the racecars history.

Tyler Vinson came into racing green in 2018 and talked about his first four race nights in a Sportsman as well as what he has been learning as he continues to get much needed laps.

Dean Catlin told me what is going on this weekend at Skyline as they have a bounty on Saturday, some fun on the small track on Sunday and reveals a new food item that is right up my alley.

I had a nice day on Thursday as I got in a morning round of golf and then got some work done to get ready for our party tonight for my wife’s 50th birthday. I know…it’s on a race night. Bonus point subtracted.

It is going to be a fun night and we’ll be back at a track tomorrow night to get more fun stuff up for you. I have six nice interviews I saved with you for tomorrow that I hope you’ll like to be sure to come back for that.

And we're teaching again today in the Derrick Podsiadlo and James Sweeting interviews as they tell me how they are going to change their car for a track that was slicker then they thought in hot laps. I love learning this stuff with you guys!

Got a lot done on Wednesday and actually got to take the hot rod out for a little jaunt. She’s running alright but I may need to get a little tune on the crate engine as she is not quite 100%. But at least she is legal and on the road. That’s a start.

I’ll start my day today with a round of golf with some friends and then I’ll come back and get to work here at the house. We have Camille’s party tomorrow and I hope to see some of mt racing friends here although the weather is nice so many of them will be racing. I hope you all have fun.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for today starting with a feature winner from this past weekend. You guys know that one of our big goals is to teach this year and this chat falls right into that category. Hope you like it and learn from it. And thanks Alan Johnson for the idea!

I’ll be going at it hard again today with the hopes of a day off either Thursday or Friday. We are having a little get together on Friday night for my wife’s 50th so there will be no race for me that night but I’ll make sure we have a lot of good stuff up for anyway.

We’ve got some work to do this week as we have a party for my wife on Friday night. Unless it rains, our racing friends might not be able to make it so we don’t know if we should root for rain or not. Tough decision.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Justin Haers remembers his hard crash last week at Land of Legends and tells me how he is doing.
Jimmy Phelps recaps his Saturday night in Canandaigua and talks about Sunday’s All Star Sprint show.
Jordan Thomas prepared for Friday at Ransomville and told me about his races so far this season.
Loren Lincoln tells me about the Sportsman he is driving and how much better it has been of late.
Rich Vleck talks about the upcoming Speedway Showcase races and previews Thursday at Genesee.

It was another busy day as I spent the day at the NYS Fairgrounds racing with Allie as we moved her up to the Modified division with the Syracuse Microd Club. She did well in the Kuleszo Racing car but rain fell before the feature so she will have double features in two weeks. If you’ve been looking to come out that would be a good one to see.

Then we did some TV with Rich Vleck as our first two Speedway Showcase shows are coming up soon. The first one airs this weekend so check out www.speedwayshowcase.com to check for your local listings or watch some previous shows.

I’ll be back in the studio again today and I have up the interview a lot of you have been asking for as we see how Justin Haers is doing after his hard flips last weekend. It’s up first and I hope you like it.

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page starting with the interview I was just talking about. Justin Haers remembers his hard crash last week at Land of Legends, tells me how he is doing now and thanks everyone who reached out to him afterwards. Whew! Glad you’re okay Justin!

Jordan Thomas prepared for Friday at Ransomville and told me about his races so far this season while remembering how he did the last time he came to Ransomville.

Loren Lincoln tells me about the Sportsman he is driving, an issue he was trying to fix with the car and how much better it has been of late.

New on the Audio Page from Land of Legends Raceway:

After the heat races:

Brad Steinruck pulled away to win his Street Stock heat and told me how much he likes his new car.
Adam DePuy explained how he was moving his line a little bit whole out front in his Street Stock win.
Alysha Baye won the first 305 Sprint Car heat race and remembered her race with it the night before.
Darryl Ruggles ran away and hid in his win and talked about what he has been learning at Paradise.
A.J. Lloyd got the win in the second Sportsman heat and told me about a switch to the older chassis.
Ricky Newton sat in his car before the feature and talked about running down the leader for a win.
Justin Haers got back on the horse to win his heat and told me how he caught and passed the #63.
Kyle Coffey had a nice race out front with a multi-time champion and talked about his heat race win.
Brian Sage led every lap to win his heat and talked about how he did so with a DIRTcar legal 358.

After the feature races:

Adam DePuy survived a wild last lap to win the Street Stock feature and described all that happened.
Paul Guererri won his 44th career Sportsman feature at LOLR and talked about a nagging issue.
John Stanley visited LOLR for the 1st time and talked about his win the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour.
Erick Rudolph made some late moves to finish 2nd in the Mod feature and told me about the feature.
Billy Dunn led 18 laps before finishing third and told me what changed with his car late in the race.

I had a blast last night as I headed west on the Thruway again although this time only about an hour away to Canandaigua and Land of Legends Raceway. Some friends of mine were running in and there to support the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour and I wanted to say “hi” and hang out with them as the raced at one of my old stomping grounds.

I got some nice pre-race chats and did as well as I could after the heats as they really know how to hustle a program around at LOLR. Since I was in the pits all night I got as many as I could after the features but as usual the people I need to talk with are at opposite ends of the pit area so I did as best I could. Sorry if I missed your favorite.

Matt Sheppard once again ran down the leaders and won again in the 35 lap Modified feature. He is just really something special at this track and is so patient while being aggressive at the same time. It will be interesting to see what he can accomplish in his career as he is as dominant now as any driver has been that I can think of and by the time he is done they may call him the greatest Modified race of all time. Too soon for that?

They are doing a lot of nice things in Canandaigua these days and you have to give them a lot of credit. And even though they had a lot on the card they rushed like rain was coming all night long which gave them some time to touch up the racetrack in between. Talk about hitting the ground running huh?

I’ll be in Syracuse today at the NYS Fairgrounds racing with Allie and the Kuleszo Race Team. They even had some fun on the dirt last night too so I’m sure they’ll be a little tired today just like a lot of us. Then we’ll do some voiceovers for the next two episodes of Speedway Showcase and I will have more on that during the week as our season debut his next weekend.

Best of luck to all of you who race today and I hope you are safe, have fun and are fast. See you tomorrow.
