I had a blast last night at Outlaw Speedway as I was a substitute announcer for Paul Szmal. I had a great time and everyone there really made feel welcome. I wish I knew the cars better but I had fun and hope I didn’t make too many mistakes.

It was nice to see some old friends and get out of my comfort zone a little. I met some new people before the race started and hope to do the same today at Fulton as I am going to try to concentrate on people I have not chatted with yet this year.

I put all mu post race interviews up today and will hold the pre-race chats until a later time. I hope to go to Utica Rome after the races get over with my daughter on Friday and am thinking about a possible mid week show…maybe Outlaw for their Deyo Series race on Wednesday. We’ll see I guess.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page from a very entertaining night in Dundee. Austin LaBarr talked about his win in the Bandit feature race and described a problem he had right after the race was over while wondering how serious it was.

Glenn Whritenour told me about his Street Stock feature win, a handling change they made during the week and told me who is the driving force behind his efforts.

Shawn Gleason took the lead early, never looked back and talked about his 4 Cylinder victory while telling me what he likes about his Acura RSX stocker.

Eric Williams won a wild Hobby Stock feature and told me how long he was out of the sport as well as why he liked returning to this particular division.

Alan Johnson made a 3 wide move on his way to his second Modified win of the season at Outlaw Speedway and talked about his pass in the middle coming out of turn number two.

Dale Welty spoke about his Sportsman win at Outlaw Speedway, how his brother helped with his set up choice and how close he came to wrecking while out front.

Chad Homan ran away in his RUSH Late Model race and talked about some changes to the racecar as well as how he found that the outside was the fastest line.

I had a nice day on Thursday although I did not go golfing as it was a little chilly for that. Plus I had a few things come up to deal with so I just stayed home, fixed some things and did some studio work later.

We’ll be at Outlaw Speedway tonight as Paul Szmal needs a sub as an announcer. I have not been in that booth to announce in close to ten years so it will be fun. And I know and have worked with most of the people in the tower and elsewhere at the track so I know I will have fun. That’s why I am doing it! Maybe I’ll see you there.

Now let’s chat more about the stuff we have for you to listen to on the Audio Page starting out with some tips for you drivers out there from a man who knows and is always willing to share what he knows. This weekend I will be at Outlaw Speedway on Friday subbing for Paul Szmal behind the microphone. I have not been there all year long and look forward to working with Mel Thomas and everyone at Outlaw Speedway. I have not announced there in a long time so it will certainly be fun.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a driver who just won his second feature of the season. Pete Desalvo told me about the opener at ESTA Safety Park Dragstrip and explained how things work.

It was another beautiful day here in Central New York and we got to get out and cruise the Camaro a little bit. It’s not running a very well but even shaking like it is under acceleration it is still more fun than my daily driver. Not nearly ass comfortable but still fun.

I got a bunch of things done yesterday and three of the four chats up today were recorded on Tuesday. In addition to the usual types of stuff I also included a chat on our local drag strip here in the area and yes, I do need to get out there and check it out. I watch NHRA, although I am behind, and would love to see what it is like at the local level. More on that later.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for today starting with one that is always popular with a driver we know well who revealed something from his past this time around. Lyle DeVore previews The Tribute taking place tonight at Albany Saratoga and runs down the specifics.
Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaws races as they ran 3nights at the Jackson Nationals.

I had a nice day on Monday as a lot of the things I needed to get done here at the house are now done and I am breathing a little easier. I let my love for racing put me at racetracks instead of doing the things I needed to do around here. Now that is done so I am feeling pretty good.

I got a lot done in the studio as well and all the interviews that I have up for you today were recorded on Monday. And I was even able to put a few in the can as well so we are in pretty good shape. Plus I still have a list of people I am hunting down so be sure to keep checking back to see who I get ahold of next!

Now let’s chat more about what I have up for you today on the Audio Page starting with a pair of winners form this past weekend. Ryan Watt tells me about his Big Block Modified feature win at Bridgeport on Saturday, looks ahead to this Thursday’s show as Mods share the stage with USAC at Grandview and talks about racing with his son.

Dave Marcuccilli recaps his weekend that included Sportsman wins at Can Am Speedway on Friday night, Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua on Saturday and offered a fan’s take on Sunday in Weedsport.

Lyle DeVore previews The Tribute, a race honoring C.D. Coville and Jack Johnson, taking place tonight at Albany Saratoga and runs down the specifics for both drivers and fans alike. Should be quite a show.

Phil Vigneri III talked about an engine issue he had at Fulton and what he felt before it happened.
Randy Shantel got ready for just his second race of the season and talked about a pre race problem.

I am finally caught up on stuff here at the house. The major problem we had with the pool is fixed and the house is ready for summer. It took a lot longer than I thought but we are finally where we need to be. Yay!

I’ll be busy all week as there is not much in the can so I will be cranking in the studio tonight hoping to get a lot done. I have a long list of calls to make and want to check in with some folks I have not talked to in a while as well. So who knows? Maybe I’ll be calling you.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for today as we begin yet another work week.    New on the Audio Page from Fulton Speedway:

Jason Parkhurst talked about his Late Model heat win and some trouble they’ve had in recent weeks.
Mark Yorker made his pass down low and win his heat race and explained why he likes the bottom.
Brandon Carvey thought back on some of the cars he has driven and talked about his Sportsman heat.
Zach Sobotka told me about his Sportsman heat win and what he learned about the racetrack he saw.
Corey Barker lost the lead, got it back and talked about how he fought the wheel to inch by for a win.
Glenn Forward led every lap to win his Modified heat and talked about getting by a slower competitor.
Todd Root ran the high side on his way to a heat win and explained why he didn’t mind hitting the chip.

After the feature races:
Sean Beardsley ran down the leader and spoke about his pass with 4 to go for a Late Model victory.
Tim Sears Jr. made his winning pass for three laps to go and spoke about win number two at Fulton.
Corey Barker picked up his second win of the season and talked about how good the 2nd race was.
Mark Yorker went three wide on lap two to pull away for a win and shared some advice he heard.

I had a fun night as I headed north to Fulton Speedway for some Saturday night fun. It was a blast and we saw some really good racing. I did not run around as much as usual as my left leg was bothering me a little. I may have overdone things the past few days but we’ll let it rest a little today.

There was late race passing in both the Crate Late Model and Modified feature as the crowd got to see some vert entertaining side by side racing. The first Sportsman feature saw Corey Barker survive eight cautions to win his first of the year at Fulton while the second race went green to checkered as Mark Yorker ran away and hid for most of the event.

Don’t forget that the All Star Circuit of Champions are in Weedsport today with Tony Stewart set to compete. Plus there are a lot of other big name talent that will be there racing 410 Sprint Cars so you know it will be a good time and the stands will be packed. Our big blocks join the show too so enjoy.
