New on the Audio Page for today:

Billy Pauch Jr. talks about his win at New Egypt Speedway after finishing 2nd in their season opener.
Lance Dusett got ready for his first laps of the year and talked about how calm he was in the pits.
Jeff Davoli summed up how his practice laps went at Land of Legends and why he went a little high.

You know it’s Sunday when it’s raining in Central New York. Yeah, once again that was the case yesterday as once again Utica Rome Speedway loses their season opener. Mother Nature is just being cruel isn’t she? Hopefully she’ll be in a better mood next weekend huh?

I got work done in the studio in between NBA playoff games as both Allie and I are laser focused after a bunch of upsets on Saturday. My kids are off this week as is my teacher wife so we’re gonna make sure we do some fun things with them on their spring break. And I don’t have to get up at 8 in the morning either. It’s gonna be a fun week!

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page beginning with a winner from Saturday night in New Jersey. Billy Pauch Jr. talks about his win at New Egypt Speedway after finishing 2nd in their season opener the week before, explained how good his car was after coming from 16th place and how he out-experienced the race leader for the victory.

Lance Dusett got ready for his first laps of the year and talked about how calm he was in the pits beforehand as well as what he hoped would happen on Saturday. Tough luck for Lance as they headed back to the pits early with an apparent engine issue. Oh man!

Jeff Davoli summed up how his practice laps went at Land of Legends and why he went a little high into the grass on one lap as well as how happy he was overall with his first laps of the season. And yeah, turning that spoiler around makes a HUGE difference.

New on the Audio Page from the Land of Legends Raceway practice:

Ben Karlsen explained why he had an old body on his car and a problem he discovered at the track.
Ronald “Bundy” Metcalf summed up how his early laps went and explained how he spun in turn 3.
Brandyn Griffin talked about how he was in his first session as he got ready for session number two.
Gil Tegg Jr. told me what his goals were for Saturday and described some issues they have to fix.

It was an absolutely beautiful day on Saturday. Probably the best day we had so far this year and we’re so happy it came on a race day. Allie and I spent some time in Canandaigua and had a great time seeing friends, seeing racecars on the racetrack and just getting dirty on a wonderful day.

I got thirteen chats done and will be searching for more today as it could be a little raw out there. Utica Rome is still a go as of the time I wrote this up on Saturday so check their website to see how they look today. And the Syracuse Microd Club has their annual tech day and fun race today and if they go we may head over for a few and see our friends there.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for today as we get ready for a week off from school for both my wife and kids. Ben Karlsen explained why he had an old body on his car, described a problem he discovered at the track and what happens when you put tear off on right after cleaning the shield.

Ronald “Bundy” Metcalf summed up how his early laps went in last year’s Street Stock, explained how he spun in turn three in the second session as well as how much more comfortable he is now.

Brandyn Griffin talked about how he was in his first session with his more familiar car, the different chassis he was going to run in session number two and looks forward to racing some new tracks.

Gil Tegg Jr. told me what his goals were for Saturday’s practice laps in Canandaigua and described some issues they have to fix as well as how good it was for both him and his crew.

C.J. Castelletti spoke about his life after college and the new set up they were trying this past Sunday.
Frank Nortz talks about the Saturday and Sunday practices this weekend at Adirondack International.

What a nice day it was on Friday. I actually went outside in shorts for my walk just because I could. Then the rains came but the good news is that it should be out of her really fast and should not be a factor today at all.

Can Am stats their season off with a big Super DIRTcar Series race on the big half mile and they have big money on the line with $10,000 going to the winner. Plus big money is also there for Sportsman and Four Cylinders as well.

Allie and I will be at Land of Legends Raceway as they have their first practice of the year on tap. We’ll also be at their Wednesday practice as well so we hope to see a lot of you there.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page today as we start out with a father and son team that are all in for this season. Ryan Godown recaps his family’s big day at New Egypt and offers his take on engine combinations.
Brian Calabrese described how his Sportsman did in Sunday’s practice and how last year’s set up did.
Mike Richmond practiced last Sunday at Utica Rome and explained how he cycles in some new tires.

It sounds like we could have a very rainy day on tap for today and I’m hoping that it is not enough rain to mess with tomorrow as there is a lot on the card for Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed and let’s hope for the best.

I got on the road on Thursday as I stopped by to see some friends in Geneva to get an idea of what kind of equipment I would need to do some videos. I learned a lot and had fun sharing stories. Who knows, maybe I can get going what I have been hoping for and start a new chapter. We’ll see I guess.

Now let’s chat more about what I have for you on the Audio Page starting with a man who got to smile twice this past weekend. Ryan Godown recaps his family’s winning day at New Egypt as both he and his son visited victory lane and offers his take on many engine combinations that Modifieds can run nowadays.

Brian Calabrese described how his Sportsman did in Sunday’s practice, described how last year’s set up did and what switching the location on the panhard bar did to the car.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Ryan Arbuthnot talked about his plans to race his big block at Can Am and his 2019 race schedule.
Randy Shantel improved as the Utica Rome practice rolled on and described what his day was like.
John Ramsey described how his hot lap session went in a crate Sportsman and a problem they had.
Brandon Gibbons offered his take on racing after his first ever hot laps and the tree he hit off turn 4.

We actually had a little snow in the morning up here although I only heard about and did not see it so I will not be confirming that ugly rumor. But boy it did stay cold on Wednesday despite the fact that it looked nice outside. Better days are coming that we do know for sure.

I’m hoping for a good weekend as Saturday’s forecast is now looking better as Can Am has a Super DIRTcar Series race and Land of Legends Raceway has a practice that Allie and I will be attending. We’re hoping to so a little research on head and neck restraint systems as I have never tried one on and am very reluctant to if I’m being totally honest with you.

Hopefully I’ll feel better about it after Saturday but if I can get by without it I will. Only one track I am planning on running requires them so we’ll see. I’m sure they slow down the time it takes you to get out of the car if you had to and that is my number one fear. Am I wrong? Suggestions would be appreciated.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a driver getting ready for a big show on Saturday. Ryan Arbuthnot talked about his plans to race his big block at Can Am in their Super DIRTcar Series race on Saturday, described some last minute things he had to finish up and his 2019 race schedule.

Lots going on this weekend and we look at Can Am’s big show today. I’ll be at the Land of Legends practice this Saturday and then at Utica Rome on Sunday for their season opener. It’s gonna be great to get out twice this weekend to see some racing so let’s hope Mother Nature s nice to us.

Max McLaughlin tells me about his 13th place run in the NASCAR K&N Series on Saturday at Bristol.
A.J. Filbeck gets ready for his first practice laps and tells me about the familiar Sportsman he’ll race.
Brandon Gibbons took his first laps ever on Sunday and talked about some of his racing background.
Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series as they raced twice in Arizona.

I had a nice day on Monday as I got a lot of little things done that really needed to get done. Things went fairly smooth so I am good shape and have a few more things checked off my Spring To Do List.

After that I got busy in the studio as I am hoping to take today off to go to the bowling banquet and say goodbye to all my bowling friends who I won’t see again till late September. It was a fun year. I had my first 279 in many years but my average was down a few pins as my pesky knees and an old shoulder injury made it tough. But we had fun and that’s what really matters.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page beginning with one of our own who is making a name for himself on the asphalt at one of the most storied tracks on the circuit. Max McLaughlin tells me about his 13th place finish in the NASCAR K&N Series from Saturday at Bristol, describes the part that broke while he was racing for 5th and looks ahead to this weekend at Hickory in a Late Model.

A.J. Filbeck gets ready for his first practice laps at Utica Rome Speedway and tells me about the familiar Sportsman he’ll race as well as how his off season went.
