New on the Audio Page for today:

Eldon Payne Jr. recapped his fifth place finish at Outlaw Speedway and what he liked about his car.
Darryl Ruggles talked about a rear end issue he had at a recent practice and a stumbling engine.
Blane Smith got in his 1st laps of the year and told me about his goals with his son’s car on Wednesday.
Jennifer Martin previews the coming season at Ransomville Speedway as she watched practice laps.

Thursday was nice although we are really hoping today and the rest of the weekend are just as nice. The forecast is ever changing so we’ll just have to sit back and see what happens.

These are the times that make racers ger gray hair. When it is a 100% and everyone knows we aren’t racing it’s one thing. And obviously when there is very little chance of rain we can deal with that too but when it’s like it is for this weekend you just don’t know. Plus throw in soggy pit areas and parking lots and it makes it that much murkier.

So we’ll just sit back and roll with it. I still have some stuff in the can as Outlaw Speedway is the only local track running tonight where tomorrow is the Land of Legends Raceway opener. Keep your fingers crossed and we’ll see what happens.

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page for you today starting out with a man who is hoping to improve in one particular area this year. Eldon Payne Jr. recapped his fifth place finish at Outlaw Speedway this past Saturday, what he was most pleased with about the day and commented on his son’s first laps at Land of Legends.

Darryl Ruggles talked about a rear end issue he had at a recent practice, a stumbling engine with his daughter’s car and his plans to race twice this weekend beginning tonight!

Blane Smith got in his 1st laps of the year on Wednesday night and told me about his goals with his son’s car on Wednesday as well as how his own Street Stock is coming along.

Jennifer Martin previews the coming season at Ransomville Speedway, highlights some of the dates including the first practice as she watched her husband and son take some practice laps.

Steve Paine talked about getting a win in the 70 lap Modified race last Saturday at Outlaw Speedway.
Mike Welch looked fast in his practice sessions and talked about the Street Stock he’ll be driving.
Dave Marcuccilli recapped his 11th place last Saturday in the Super DIRTcar Series race at Can Am.
Rick Crego got ready for his very first laps of the season and talked about his goals for the practice.
Max Hill took his first laps ever at the track and described the warm welcome he had on the radio.

It was a really nice day on Wednesday and I got end it by going to another practice at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua. There was a nice field of cars on hand and we had a ball. Nobody bounced off of anything either so it was a good day across the board.

I just hope we get a break this weekend as Mother Nature seems to be in her typical April mood. I am hoping we have a window on Saturday and then maybe later in the day on Sunday too as now that I have been to a few practices I am ready to see some racing. Keep your fingers crossed.

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page from last night at Land of Legends starting out with a request. Max Hill took his first laps ever at the track and described the warm welcome he had on the radio while pulling on to the track as well as how happy he was with his practice laps.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Scott Kerwin talked about the W-16 powered car he hot lapped and why his plans changed this year.
Kevin Root tells me how he won in his first start of the year Saturday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee.
Sam Hoxie showed up with the plain white Sportsman and talked about his transition from karting.

We’ve got a nice mix for you today as we have three new chats up for you today on the Audio Page. I had a nice day off and am hoping to get another whiff or two of racefuel today at the Land of Legends Practice session. I hope to see you there!

I am so happy that we are where we are right now compared to a few months ago. Within the next few weeks all the tracks will be open and we’ll be at full song as a community. It has been so long it seems and I am so happy to finally be seeing some of you at the tracks. And I hope we have a great weekend.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a driver who was shaking down a car for a fellow driver this past weekend. Scott Kerwin talked about the W-16 powered car he hot lapped on Saturday, explained why his plans changed this year and remembered a freak rainstorm at Ransomville that took out almost the entire field.

Kevin Root tells me how he won in his first start of the year Saturday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, describes an incident that happened after the first caution that took the cars off the track and runs down his plans for the season.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Paul Habeck offered his thoughts after some hot laps and talked about his long road to the racetrack.
Wayne Bradley Jr. talked about getting paralyzed last summer and his comeback in a Street Stock.
Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars as they raced at Devil’s Bowl in Texas.

Ok, now the cold weather is out of here and we can get back to getting closer to spring and summer like weather. Heck, we may hit 70 degrees later this week. And some of the rain they were predicting is now not on the forecast so let’s hope this is the turning point for the year.

I have a couple of inspiring interviews up today as we meet with a pair of racers who are just happy to be at the track. Each has their own unique story and I know you’ll like them both. And of course we have our Tuesday special on the greatest Sprint Car drivers on the planet too.

I’ll be off today as we’re doing a few things with the kids today before hopefully heading out for practice number two at Land of Legends Raceway. I’m planning on either Friday or Sunday for race day this weekend so we’ll see how things look and make a decision as that day gets closer.

Now let’s chat more about what’s on the Audio Page with a friend we’ve known for a while and a new friend we met on Saturday.    New on the Audio Page for today:

Billy Pauch Jr. talks about his win at New Egypt Speedway after finishing 2nd in their season opener.
Lance Dusett got ready for his first laps of the year and talked about how calm he was in the pits.
Jeff Davoli summed up how his practice laps went at Land of Legends and why he went a little high.

You know it’s Sunday when it’s raining in Central New York. Yeah, once again that was the case yesterday as once again Utica Rome Speedway loses their season opener. Mother Nature is just being cruel isn’t she? Hopefully she’ll be in a better mood next weekend huh?

I got work done in the studio in between NBA playoff games as both Allie and I are laser focused after a bunch of upsets on Saturday. My kids are off this week as is my teacher wife so we’re gonna make sure we do some fun things with them on their spring break. And I don’t have to get up at 8 in the morning either. It’s gonna be a fun week!

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page beginning with a winner from Saturday night in New Jersey. Billy Pauch Jr. talks about his win at New Egypt Speedway after finishing 2nd in their season opener the week before, explained how good his car was after coming from 16th place and how he out-experienced the race leader for the victory.

Lance Dusett got ready for his first laps of the year and talked about how calm he was in the pits beforehand as well as what he hoped would happen on Saturday. Tough luck for Lance as they headed back to the pits early with an apparent engine issue. Oh man!

Jeff Davoli summed up how his practice laps went at Land of Legends and why he went a little high into the grass on one lap as well as how happy he was overall with his first laps of the season. And yeah, turning that spoiler around makes a HUGE difference.

Ronald “Bundy” Metcalf summed up how his early laps went and explained how he spun in turn 3.
Brandyn Griffin talked about how he was in his first session as he got ready for session number two.
Gil Tegg Jr. told me what his goals were for Saturday and described some issues they have to fix.

It was an absolutely beautiful day on Saturday. Probably the best day we had so far this year and we’re so happy it came on a race day. Allie and I spent some time in Canandaigua and had a great time seeing friends, seeing racecars on the racetrack and just getting dirty on a wonderful day.

I got thirteen chats done and will be searching for more today as it could be a little raw out there. Utica Rome is still a go as of the time I wrote this up on Saturday so check their website to see how they look today. And the Syracuse Microd Club has their annual tech day and fun race today and if they go we may head over for a few and see our friends there.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for today as we get ready for a week off from school for both my wife and kids. C.J. Castelletti spoke about his life after college and the new set up they were trying this past Sunday.
Frank Nortz talks about the Saturday and Sunday practices this weekend at Adirondack International.

What a nice day it was on Friday. I actually went outside in shorts for my walk just because I could. Then the rains came but the good news is that it should be out of her really fast and should not be a factor today at all.

Can Am stats their season off with a big Super DIRTcar Series race on the big half mile and they have big money on the line with $10,000 going to the winner. Plus big money is also there for Sportsman and Four Cylinders as well.

Allie and I will be at Land of Legends Raceway as they have their first practice of the year on tap. We’ll also be at their Wednesday practice as well so we hope to see a lot of you there.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page today as we start out with a father and son team that are all in for this season.
