We had another sick day here at the house as Allie was down the for the third day in a row. We took er to the doctor again and she has another ear infection. She started medication today and will be home getting better so she can hit the ground running next week.
I did some work in the studio and will be back in there again today as I have two things in the can for tomorrow but would sure like to add some more. I have a meeting today about another project we may have coming up and it should be a good one too. We'l have more on that later.
Now let's chat more about what we have on the Audio Page starting off with a DIRT Hall of Famer. Alan Johnson talks about the drag rubber they ran years ago, how the track at Land of Legends once was and how his season is going so far.

In the latest Doug's Thoughts I talk about how much I really enjoy doing pit reporting for the crowd, where I will be this weekend and look forward to the next chapter for Allie.

Matt Janczuk is now 2 for 2 at Fulton Speedway and talked about his Sportsman win last Saturday.
Nick Guererri remembered a tough opening night and told me about the rescheduled Cabin Fever 40.
Jim Hixson describes the job he has as a Tech Inspector and some of what his race nights are like.
I had a good day although Allie was home sick once again. She did much better as the day went on and now she is ready to get back to school today and get back at it. She missed a basketball game on Wednesday but will now be ready for their big season ending tournament this Monday.
I will be back in the studio today and hoping that the weather they have predicted for tomorrow won't get here or won't be as bad as they are saying as there are still some Friday tracks who have not run yet and others who need to get the gates open again. We wish you all the best and hopefully we can see some racing tomorrow.
I hope you all are ready and having a great week. I have some software stuff to deal with today and will be back again with more good stuff as we get ready for the weekend.

I am on a roll this week huh? Many friends and fans of the website did well this past weekend so I have been very busy and plan to get back at it again today after Allie’s basketball game. I’ll be back about 6 and then I’ll be back in the studio so if you have suggestions be sure to pass them along.
I plan on being at Brewerton on Friday and Land of Legends on Saturday. We many even sneak in a Sunday in Vernon if we’re able to as this could be our first three day weekend of the season. Keep your fingers crossed.

It was yet another crappy day as a storm made it’s way up the east coast soaking us yet again. I stayed warm and dry inside the studio and got a crap load of work done. Not sure about the Tuesday show tonight at Albany Saratoga or Wednesday at Utica Rome so I am gonna keep loading up here in the studio with the people I hope you wanna hear from.
I’ve got a bunch of stuff in the can just in case as nothing is a given this week except rain and cold. Saturday looks good so that’s a plus but boy do we need some help on Friday and Sunday. C’mon Mother Nature, this is getting old.

It’s hard to believe isn’t it? Another rainy Sunday yet again cancelled all the action that was set to be run. Utica Rome is now been rained out every race so far and to try to make up for it they have now scheduled a race for this Wednesday. And as of now the weather looks good so keep your fingers crossed.
I stayed dry and inside getting some work done in the studio. I got a few done and have calls out to many more as we have some more racing to talk about this week. And if we have not talked to your favorite or maybe we missed something please feel free to let us know.

Mike Welch got the win in the final Street Stock heat and told me about getting the car better.
Johnny Kolosek ran well for the second week in a row and talked about his heat and A-Main win.
Jason Whipple won a good back and forth race out front and told me how hard they were racing.
Ricky Newton has won both his Sportsman heats in Canandaigua and spoke about his latest win.
Kevin Ridley took the checkered in the 2nd heat and talked about how he made the move outside.
Kevin Root described the need for more side bite after his win in the third Sportsman heat race.
Steve Gray chatted with me about his Sportsman heat win and why he liked the outside groove.
Alan Johnson spoke to me after his Modified heat win and told me how close he was on weight.
Gil Tegg Jr. had a different motor in his big block in his heat and wondered what he was hearing.
Erick Rudolph smiled for the camera after his Modified win and told me how good his racecar was.
A.J. Lloyd won the Sportsman consolation race and talked about the three car battle at the front.
After the feature races, the A- Main and the Sportsman B-Main:
Adam DePuy survived a late race restart to win his second in a row and talked about his racecar.
Darryl Ruggles made a late race move to win the 305 A-Main and told me who he was missing.
Kevin Ridley won his 27th career Sportsman race and talked about how he used the outside.
Matt Sheppard stretched his win streak to eight and described how he went from third to first.
Garrison Krentz got the win in the Sportsman B-Main and talked about what went wrong earlier.
I had a fun Saturday night once again as I got to work again at Land of Legends Raceway. I stayed in the pits for the most part again and did victory lanes as I am totally having a blast getting to announce and stay with al my buddies in the pits who I have gotten to know better these last 13 years after giving up the booth.
It was more like typical Canandaigua as yes, it was still pretty muddy in spots but the track ended up being more like it usually is on the big, sweeping half mile. We did heat race winner interviews for the crowd and did some beforehand as we tried to teach the crowd some things about Modifieds. We had fun!
Matt Sheppard continues to be on a roll like nobody before as he won his eighth Modified feature race in a row. (He also won Friday night at Outlaw.) He downplayed it a little in his interview but he went from third to first in one move as the leaders caught traffic. Wow! Again, what he is doing in today’s ultra-competitive Modified world is just plain impressive and maybe unprecedented. Again, wow!
Go to www.landoflegendsraceway.com for more and look on the Audio Page for all the heat and feature winners. As usual we did save the pre-race chats and some of those will be up tomorrow. I am hoping to go to Utica Rome Speedway today but the forecast changed dramatically from the time I left till the time I got back from Canandaigua.
I know I promised a Doug’s Thoughts on Canandaigua and I just plan forgot. I was reminded about it last night so I will get it done this week for sure.
Have a great Sunday everyone and hopefully we will get to see some racing later today. I hope you all had a great Saturday night at your favorite track or maybe someplace you don’t go to as much.

Bob Kilburn told me about his Sportsman Coupe win at Bear Ridge and why he was a rookie at 58.
Paul Cole goes over the season opener at Land of Legends Raceway and why he wanted to race.
It was another rainy Friday and many tracks fell victim to the weather. I stayed in the studio and got some work done so that’s why you have four new clips to listen to today.
I’ll be in Canandaigua today and doing more pit reporting as I really dig being in the mix with all my buddies and seeing things firsthand. I’ve gotten so used to being in the pits these last 14 years that it just seems comfortable to be there. And you’ll see me on the big screen there tonight for what should be quite the show.
Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page on what will be another chilly Saturday at the racetrack…but at least we’re going right? Davey Sammons talks about his Modified win at New Egypt, how man years it has been between victories and why he moved away from Sprints after 12 years.
