Scott Holcomb remembered his ESS win last Saturday night in a special race up north at Evans Mills.

We hope you all had a great Friday night and are looking forward to some more fun tonight. I’m on the road a lot this weekend so I have updated the site ahead of time so I can come home and sleep. It’s a lot of miles in a short period of time but I’m sure we’ll be fine.

We are at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway tonight for the second time this season and it will be fun to see a lot of you that I don’t get to see very much. It’s gonna be fun and we are hoping for a smooth night for everyone regardless of where you call home tonight.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for today starting with a man who had a big win during the weekend in a rainout/make-up show from a while back. David Van Horn Jr. tells me how he picked up his 3rd Modified win of the season Tuesday at New Egypt, how he came from fourth to the lead before halfway and what has been keeping him busy during the week.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Kelly Hebing talked about her recent flip in Weedsport and how she kept her head in the game.
Alan Rudalavage interviews Allie Elkins about her rookie season in a Dodge Challenger Modified.

I had a nice day on Thursday as I got a lot done including getting Allie some new fire proof gear including a top and head sock. She’ll try that out tonight at Mohawk International Raceway as I get ready for a weekend full of driving.

We’ll head back every night as I cannot sleep in hotels and then tomorrow we’ll head to Plattsburgh before hitting Cornwall on Sunday. I know what you’re thinking but I’m no good without sleep and it has to be done. And because I will need sleep I’ll be holding on to everything I do this weekend until Monday as Sunday night I’ll stay up late and get some work done.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for today starting with a young lady who explains what it is like to bounce back after a crash. Kelly Hebing talked about her recent flip in Weedsport and how she kept her head in the game afterwards both as they were fixing the car as well as once she got back on the track.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Tim Sears Jr. recaps his last two race weekends that included two wins and a ride at OCFS.
Jason Simmons describes the work taking place right now in Oswego for Super DIRT Week.

We had a bit of a stormy day on Wednesday but fortunately by the afternoon everything was fine. I hope you guys are alright as I heard it was a little rougher to our south and east. Nice thing is that the weekend will be nice and not nearly as warm as it has been.

There are just two weekends of local racing left so be sure to get out and support your favorite shows. Many tracks are ending their Modified points this weekend as Lebanon Valley runs a series race on the final Saturday of the month essentially forcing the end of the season for Saturday night DIRTcar Modified teams a week earlier than it used to be.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page beginning with a racer who has been going very well of late. Tim Sears Jr. recaps his last two race weekends that included two wins at Fulton Speedway and a ride at Orange County’s big race as well as his hopes for a championship at Brewerton Speedway.

Jason Simmons describes the work taking place right now in Oswego for Super DIRT Week, what the big goals are for that work and runs down what his race team will be doing after Labor Day.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Alan Rudalavage talked about his win last Friday at Penn Can and wonders about a change in 2019.
Paul Cole tells me why last week’s rainout call was not that tough and previews the rest of the season.

We got a lot done on Tuesday as we got Allie a fireproof head sock and top for this weekend. It will be here by Thursday and thanks to our special backer who helped make that happen and got us some extra money for the rest of the season. Thanks man!

I also got in the studio, got your much needed yard work done and finished it off with a dip in the pool. Who knows how many more times I will get to do that so I better jump on it while I can.

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page for today starting with a man who just earned his first victory of the season. Alan Rudalavage talked about his win last Friday at Penn Can, explains how a wreck eliminated a fair amount of his competition and wonders if he might try a bucket list item weekly in 2019.

Paul Cole tells me why last week’s rainout call was not that tough at Land of Legends Raceway after some big rain the day before and previews the rest of the season as well as a special event taking place this Saturday.

I am building up the can to make sure we are ready for this weekend as we have three big races coming up. And we’ll be driving a lot so it is going to be busy, busy, busy but we can’t wait. We’ll be making the trip back home each night as I don’t mind driving. It’s gonna be a lot of road time but I can never sleep away from home.

If I have not spoken to your favorite driver in a while give me a shout either at doug@dougsdirtdiary.com or message me on Facebook and I’ll get it done. Have a great Tuesday and we hope to see you back tomorrow.

Josh Pieniazek recapped his latest race weekend and talked about some improvement in 2019.
Luke Horning described the crash he was in on Friday in Malta and his hospital visit that night.

That was quite the stormy day on Sunday wasn’t it? We had them roll through in the afternoon like a lot of you did and it seemed like we heard thunder for almost an hour. You know me. I love storms except when I’m at the racetrack.

I got some work done in the studio but have found recently that Monday is a better day to make phone calls. I’ll be hard at work today and make sure I have more for you guys tomorrow as we continue to wind down the regular season.

Tyler Cartier runs down what it has been like as he moved from a 305 Sprinter to a 360 Sprint Car.
Jeff Prentice updates me on how he is doing in his rookie season and how close he is to a victory.

It was a big stormy day on Saturday and if you combined that with the big rain we got Friday night into Saturday morning you can see why there were widespread cancellations. Canandaigua cancelled early and Fulton was right about the same time as two big lines of storms came through the area.

I took advantage of that to get some non-racing stuff done as I went out and about until early evening. I made sure to set some things up for today and will be back with more good stuff for you tomorrow.

Now let’s chat more about what’s new on the Audio Page for today as we hope for better weather. Josh Flint tells me how his season has gone with the ESS as he prepared for some fun at Brewerton, what he has been chasing set up wise and what they found when they put it on the scales.
