New on the Audio Page for today:

Danny Creeden reviewed his season in a Modified and talked about how a late season change helped.
Phil Vigneri III reviewed last season’s racing where he picked up 3 wins and hit the road a bit more.

It was a cold one on Saturday as we spent a good deal of time in the studio and running errands with the kids. It was fun but it will be nice today to lay low a little. We’ll start early at the gym, watch football with friends and then get back to work after that. I love Sundays as I get to see friends both away from and in racing as well.

I have a pair of Season in Review interviews for you today and then tomorrow we’ll chat asphalt for a day with a big name driver in the Super Modified ranks and preview a race coming up after the first of the year. Be sure to come back for that.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting out with a driver who can’t wait for 2020 to get here. Danny Creeden reviewed his 2019 season in a Modified, remembered one very expensive night in particular and talked about how a late season chassis change helped.

Phil Vigneri III reviewed last season’s racing where he picked up three wins, remembered his tri to Charlotte to finish the season and explains why he likes Genesee Speedway so much.

New on the Audio Page for today from the NYS Indoor Championship in Syracuse:

Dan Kapuscinski talked about learning to race a Champ Kart and how it compares to a standard kart.
Tyler Thompson watched the action on Friday night and looked forward to a very busy day later today.
Rich Skora told me about his heat win in the unlimited class and why we saw smoke in the corners.
Kevin Ward described what his team brought to the event and the advice he’s giving his young driver.
Matt Thomas explains how fans of the Indoor Championship can watch the event from their home.

I had a fun day on Friday as I headed over to the NYS Fairgrounds and the Center of Progress Building to see the first night of action at the 27th Annual Indoor Championships. I love this event for the sights, smells and the action on a tight cols syrup covered concrete track. These Karts are fast, fast, fast and action is intense. It continues today so be sure to check it out.

I have five clips up from the event for you to listen to hopefully to get you excited to go out and see it for yourself. If you’ve never been I can tell you that it is nothing like what you’ve seen anywhere else. The unlimited class will running lap times in the 6 second range. It’s crazy and you should see it.

For more information go to www.syracuseindoor.com and to watch the action live go to www.asphaltvision.tv. Have a great Saturday and we’ll see you tomorrow.

Now let’s chat more about the new stuff on the Audio Page beginning with a pair of drivers we know well here in Central New York. Dan Kapuscinski talked about learning to race a Champ Kart this off season, described how it compares to a standard kart and tells us how much indoor racing he will do in 2020.

Tyler Thompson watched the action on Friday night from Syracuse, looked forward to a very busy day later today and told me how happy he was with the way things went on the asphalt this past season.

Rich Skora told me about his heat win in the unlimited class, described how well his kart handled in the turns and why we saw smoke off the left rear in the corners.

Kevin Ward described what his team brought to the event, analyzed how the heat races went on Friday night and shared some of the advice he’s giving his young driver.

Matt Thomas explains how fans of the Indoor Championship can watch the event live from their home, how they can watch it later and describes some of the challenges of covering this unique event.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Ryan Watt reviews his eight win season and talked about his very first season as a 17 year old rookie.
Brett Deyo previews this weekend’s Fonda Speedway banquet and the 2020 schedule at Georgetown.

I’ll be on the road today to take the twelve minute drive to the New York State Fairgrounds for day one of the NYS Indoor Championships. There will be a stellar field of kart racers from five to sixty-five on hand in one of my favorite events of the season.

I’ll get there around dinner time and will grab a few racers to get you all ready for the big show on Saturday at the cola syrup covered concrete track. The speeds you’ll see in the open class are something you won’t wanna miss so make your plans now!

Before that I have some new stuff on the Audio Page today as we begin with another Season in Review interview. Ryan Watt reviews his eight win season and talked about his very first season as a 17 year old rookie as well as how nice it was to win on the final weekend of the 5/8 mile track at Bridgeport.

Brett Deyo previews this weekend’s Fonda Speedway banquet, explains how valuable the 50/50 ticket sellers were in their record payout and talks about the 2020 schedule at Georgetown Speedway.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Grant Hilfiger talked about his Sportsman win at The Gobbler and his championship at Orange County.
Paul Szmal recapped his weekend in Minnesota covering the Amsoil Championship Snocross Series.

It was a cold rainy day on Tuesday as a lot of the snow we picked up on Monday melted away. Luckily for us more is on the way today in the form of lake effect so we could get a dusting or maybe six inches. As much as we’ve grown from a technological standpoint they still can’t predict the weather very well can they?

I will be back in the studio today as the can is empty as of the time I wrote this up Wednesday afternoon. I’m planning on the Friday practice for the Syracuse Indoor Championship but am not sure about Saturday. Both our kids have so much going on that both me and my wife should be running a taxi service. Good that they’re busy though and we could not be more proud.

Now let’s talk more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a man I had not chatted with in years. Grant Hilfiger talked about his Sportsman win at The Gobbler this past Saturday, his championship at Orange County and why he stepped back a bit from the driver’s seat only to return more in 2019.

Paul Szmal recapped his snowy weekend in Minnesota covering the Amsoil Championship Snocross series, how much snow fell on the venue and how he had to scramble to find a way back to New York.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Jimmy Phelps reviews his two win season in a Mod and talked about what he called a “mediocre year.”
Rick Martel reminds us all about the 27th Indoor Championship this Friday and Saturday in Syracuse.

I had a nice day on Tuesday as we did not have any more snow to move and 34 degrees felt warm as I did some errands around town. I also got the chance to see how my knees were improving as I got in a game of bowling before shutting it down in the second game. I don’t want to do too much too soon but it’s nice to see that a month in the gym has helped me make some progress. More to come…

I got some more interviews done as well and am hoping to at least make the Friday practice night at this weekend’s Indoor Championship at the New York State Fairgrounds. Allie has basketball all weekend long and will miss this but she says she wishes all of you all the best and hopes that you all stay safe. Yeah, me too.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a Season in Review with one of the busiest men I know. Jimmy Phelps reviews his “mediocre year” in a dirt Modified, explained why winning on his final weekend was so big and remembers his mind set when he first started racing in Four Cylinder Super Stocks.

Rick Martel reminds us all about the 27th Indoor Championship this Friday and Saturday in Syracuse, describes some of the added classes for this year’s event and talks about racing with his grandson.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Denny Peebles
talks about racing karts indoors this weekend in Syracuse and remembers his scary fire.
Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaw drivers in action last weekend and reviews the season.

It was a snowy day for us on Monday as we had enough of the white stuff on the ground that school was cancelled. It started as an icy mix Sunday afternoon and transitioned to snow overnight like what probably happened to a lot of you.

We only got about six inches here so the snowblower did get some use for the first time since early in 2019. The twenty year old Airens worked well and Allie even got the chance to run it for a bit. She loves the smell of the gas engine on a cold winter day just like I do. Ahhh…

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page for today as we begin by reminding you about the final race taking place in New York State in 2019 that is coming up this Friday and Saturday. Denny Peebles talks about racing karts indoors this weekend in Syracuse, describes what it is that he likes best about this show and remembers his scary fire at Brewerton Speedway in his Sprint Car.

Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaw drivers in action last weekend, gives us some silly season news and reviews the season for the drivers that finished 6th through 10th in the points.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Rob Fuller talks about his new role at Troyer Race Cars and shows me their new racecars for 2020.
Rick Young explains how he came from England to Canada and why he loves dirt track racing so much.
Todd Morey thought back on his time announcing in CNY and told me what he’s been doing since.

Well the Thanksgiving weekend off is over and it’s back at it for us all today. I hope you all had a great time with friends and family and are feeling ready for what always seems like one of the longest weeks of the year.

Don’t get stressed. I know the holidays, especially Christmas, does that to me. Fortunately we did a lot of buying of gifts already as the girls have not been shy about what they want. And with the way things went this summer, Allie says her Christmas came early.

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page today as we bring you three people who operate behind the scenes. Rob Fuller talks about his new role at Troyer Race Cars, shows me their new racecars for 2020 and talks about his own background in the sport racing on asphalt.

Rick Young explains how he came from England to Canada, remembers his day as a racecar driver back in the UK and tells how that helps him take better pictures in the heat of the moment.

Todd Morey thought back on his time announcing dirt Modified races in CNY as a teenager, told me what he’s been doing since then as well as the Monster Truck series he is with now.
