New on the Audio Page for today:

Casey Pavlick explains why we did not see him much in 2018 and his plans to travel more in 2019.
Chris Stockham looks ahead to racing his wingless 600 Micro Sprint indoors in 2 weeks in Syracuse.
Tony Veneziano gets us up to speed with the World of Outlaws and reports on racing from Florida.

We’ve got an extra track for you today and tomorrow as I was able to get a lot done on Sunday and Monday. I’ll be off today but will still probably get into the studio if I can as I just can’t sit still for very long.

Some of you with warped brains like mine know what that’s like. You work hard while looking forward to a day off and then two hours into that day off I am bored and often end up getting back to work or driving my family crazy because I’m bored. Allie is just like me so at least I know there is one more person out there like that and who knows? maybe you’re just like us too.

Come back tomorrow as we will have three stock car drivers up for you and one is someone I have not spoken to since 1999. It’s been a fun couple of days and I hope to be able to keep the good stuff coming to you guys. And as always, send any suggestions you have to doug@dougsdirtdiary.com.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a driver who has been very busy away from the driver’s seat. Casey Pavlick explains why we did not see him much in 2018 and tells me about his plans to travel more in 2019 as well as the new chassis he will be picking up soon.

Chris Stockham looks ahead to racing his wingless 600 Micro Sprint indoors in 2 weeks in Syracuse, tells me how he traded a Sportsman for it and why he is hopeful to race more local tracks this season.

Tony Veneziano gets us up to speed with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, goes over some schedule changes and reports on some USCS racing from Florida.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Mike Maresca remembers his recent trip to Arizona and runs down where he will be racing in 2019.
Dave Brown talks about changes for 2019 and remembers his time in the military and law enforcement.

I got a lot done and got a lot done early as they predicted big wind in our area during the day. As of 4:30, when I wrote this up, it was relatively calm and hopefully it will stay that way. Hoping all of you are alright with potentially damaging winds hitting our area this morning.

I have a bunch of things set up for today as was able to get a few extra ones yesterday so look for a possible bonus track or two in the next few days. And of course if I have not talked to your favorite driver yet shoot me a message and I’ll do my best.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a man who was busy in the shop on Sunday. Mike Maresca remembers his recent trip to Arizona for a Late Model race, explains the work he is doing in his shop right now as he waits for his engines and runs down where he will be racing in 2019.

Dave Brown talks about changes to his Mod Lite for 2019, how happy he is to hear about the new sponsor for the division at Brewerton and remembers his time in the military and in law enforcement. Thank you for your service Dave!

New on the Audio Page for today:

Scott Kreutter explains why he missed the last indoor race and looks forward to racing Syracuse.
Michele Payne Kuleszo talks about the Southern Tier Microd Club and her 4 races this past season.

It was a real nice day on Saturday and I was finally feeling well enough to get out and enjoy it a little. I was careful not to do too much and I am almost through this, I can tell. I’ll probably have to miss another week of bowling as I do not want to get back to where I was earlier this week. It was brutal.

I’ll be back in the studio today and looking to get a lot done as we get ready to say goodbye to the winter break and get back to life as we know it. Allie has been driving with her learner’s permit and that has been fun and surprisingly not stressful at all. Cool!

Now I’ll tell you a little more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for today starting with a man who has a new addition back home. Scott Kreutter explains why he missed the last indoor race in Atlantic City, tells me how his young son is doing and looks forward to racing at the new venue in Syracuse.

Michele Payne Kuleszo talks about her new job with the Southern Tier Microd Club, explains how it has helped her young daughter in other areas and recaps her 4 races this past season.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Billy Pauch Sr. recaps his four races in Florida and tells me about some changes he would like to see.
Brandon Kidd invites us to RPM Raceway this Wednesday to learn investing and get a free kart race.

I had a nice day on Friday as I dug out my old VCR as well as some of my old tapes. We watched some old races including some of the old This Week on DIRT shows from the 1990’s. And how many of you remember the Empire DIRT Series? Yep, saw that too. It was a blast.

I got some work done in the studio as well and we’re trying to track down why some of the recent interviews have had a hum in them at times. I tried something on Friday so we’ll keep our eyes on things and see if we have it fixed. Sorry about that.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for today starting with a veteran driver who just got back from his first races of the year. Billy Pauch Sr. recaps his four races in Florida, describes an issue he had on the final night and tells me about some changes he would like to see to the body work of today’s dirt Modifieds.

Brandon Kidd invites us to RPM Raceway this Wednesday at 6 p.m. to learn investing, get a free meal from Dinosaur BBQ and get a free kart race. You can register for one of these limited spaces on his racing Facebook page or by sending him an email at bkidd@pinnacle-llc.com

New on the Audio Page for today:

Peter Britten recapped his four races at Volusia and told me about racing smart with your own team.
Tanner Harpell highlights 2 big Modified races at 5 Mile Point as well as their other 8 shows in 2019.

We had a nice day on Thursday as I continued to get better physically and my oldest daughter Allie got her permit and got behind the wheel of my Mercury later in the day. Of course we started in a parking lot as the Microd she drove could not be more different than a street car. She stomped on the brakes a few times and got on the gas a little quickly too but that will come in time.

We were able to get some work done in the studio and we’ll be back at it again today. I’ll be in there all weekend too with a big Saturday afternoon session planned before we hit our first pre-season car shows next weekend as Southern Tier Speedworld and Fingerlakes Speedworld are both next weekend and we will be at both shows.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a driver who just got back from Florida. Peter Britten recapped his four races at Volusia this past week, told me about some of the economic realities of running your own team and why a certain Australian beer we all know is not as popular there as it is here.

Tanner Harpell highlights two big Modified races at 5 Mile Point beginning with one honoring racer Doug Worthing, confirms that that have ten total Mod races on the schedule and talks about the new challenge for he and his two brothers.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Brandon Kidd recaps his 13th place finish on the road course at Daytona and looks ahead to Mid-Ohio.
Will Shields talks about his 2018 racing season and runs down some big changes for the coming year.
Jeremie Corcoran previews the 33rd Annual Syracuse Motorsports Expo & Trade Show March 9-10th.

I got a lot done again as I continue to focus hard on work to take my mind off my sore neck. It was a little better on Wednesday but nowhere near where it needs to be so we’ll just keep doing what we should be doing and hope for the best.

Three good ones for you today and be sure to come back tomorrow to hear from Peter Britten as he talks about his four races at Volusia and some things we believe about Australia that may or may not be true. Oh man! I feel like I’ve been lied to by the beer industry. Make sure to check that out.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a man who showed himself well on national TV. Brandon Kidd recaps his 13th place finish on the road course at Daytona, describes a handling issue he had to deal with in the final segment and looks ahead to Mid-Ohio in May.

Will Shields talks about his 2018 racing season in a crate Sportsman, tells me about putting a second car together and runs down some big changes in his schedule for the coming year.

Jeremie Corcoran previews the 33rd Annual Syracuse Motorsports Expo & Trade Show March 9-10th, describes some of what we will see and reminds us about his Stadium Cross race later that month.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Todd Root told me who he was working with in Florida and how his small block looks for 2019.
Willy Decker Jr. waits on his new chassis and tells me how close he is to his first Sportsman win.
Jeffrey Cardinale talks about racing his IMCA Modified again and some good news he’s received.

I kept myself pretty busy on Tuesday as I did some running around town and did a lot of interviews in the studio. I’m still hurting with my neck and now my shoulder but we’re powering through it and staying busy so I have less time to think about it. I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing to get better so anytime now I’ll be back at full strength and out of the medicine cabinet and the shower.

I even have a bunch of things set up today too as well as some in the can so outside of that everything is just fine. And we’re researching a way so I can get back to writing and keep that writing right here on the site and free to view. I’ll keep you posted on that.

Now let’s chat more about what is new for today on the Audio Page including a bonus track since I got so far ahead on Tuesday. Todd Root told me who he was working with in Florida, offered his take on his first trip to Volusia and described how his small block looks for 2019.

Willy Decker Jr. waits on his new chassis and tells me how close he feels he is to his first Sportsman win and runs down where we will see him race this season. Sorry, the audio is a little low in spots.

Jeffrey Cardinale talks about racing his IMCA Modified again and some good news he’s received for both himself and his now expanding family. I’m so happy for you Jeffrey!
