I got a lot done on Monday and finished things off watching the SU basketball team take on second ranked Virginia. As I write this up, it is halftime and I am hoping the second half goes as well as the first for the boys in orange.

I’ll be off today as I will try to go back to bowling after two weeks off with an injury in my shoulder and neck. I hope I am not pushing it too much but we’ll see later today. Wish me well.

Oh, and my oldest daughter Allie got her braces off after 3 years and she could not stop smiling. She has a little lisp going with her new retainer but when she sings and races this summer she’ll just take it out. Good for her and we wish al of you with braces (I had them too) will have your off soon so you can smile without even a reason.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a young lady who is very busy during the race season. Alysha Ruggles showed off her 305 Sprint Car and talked about racing against her experienced dad as well as how she balances being a racecar driver, a business owner and a racecar driver.

Mike Emhof runs down the schedules for the Patriot Sprint Tour and the CRSA for the 2019 season while highlighting some dates and reminding everyone to see him this weekend at the Syracuse Motorsports Expo.

Gary Palone previews the coming season at Paradise Speedway, reminds us about Wednesday’s practices open to any dirt car and wonders if he will be selling the track soon.

Tony Veneziano reports on the WoO Sprints from Las Vegas, the star studded field that was on-hand and looks ahead to the California swing. Beginning this weekend in Tulare.

Dave Axton talks about Highside Racewear and his plans to race about 30 or so 360 Sprint Car races.

Carl Crawford tells me about his plans to race a TQ Midget this coming weekend indoors in Syracuse.
Greg Hixson remembers his racing days that included a Mr. DIRT title and his job at Canandaigua.

Allie and I had a nice day on Sunday at Finger Lakes Speedworld. We chatted with a lot of people, saw some great looking racecars and then went out to dinner afterwards. It was such a nice weekend as we got to know the people we will be seeing this summer a little more and they got to meet us too. It could not have gone much better.

Today I will be busy and trying to track down some more racers leading up to what is going to be quite the weekend here in Syracuse. The indoor race at the new building at the New York State Fairgrounds is Friday and Saturday while the 33rd Annual Syracuse Motorsports Expo is Saturday and Sunday. It is going to be a wild race weekend here so make your plans to come for at least one day or are three if you can.

Dwight Nichols talks about being a 50 year old Sportsman rookie and what he learned last year.
Tom Wilcox tells me about the local Microd & Quarter Midget scene and some of the graduates.

My wife and I had fun as we headed out to Finger Lakes Speedworld to meet Allie’s car owner for the first time and hang with other people associated with the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour. Allie really liked meeting him as did we and we are so comfortable with him it is not even funny. So yeah, we’re feeling pretty good today.

And what a nice turnout it was on Saturday as I have not seen the Finger Lakes Mall this busy since the 1990’s. We’ll be back today and will be there as it closes so I hope to get a lot more for you guys to listen to tomorrow. I’ll be back in the studio on Monday and will be very busy leading up to the big weekend in Syracuse.

Two mall shows are taking place this weekend with Southern Tier Speedworld in Johnson City and Finger Lakes Speedworld in Auburn. Please support these two mall shows and show your support by stopping at the stores and restaurants so they know we were there. Have fun and get to see some brand new racecars before they hit the track this summer.

Mike Bowman talks about his scaled back plans and the realties of getting race parts in Canada.
Barry Kingsley explained why he was out after last year and why he will now race 350 Supers.

I had a fun day that started out with some snow blowing as we got about 4-5 inches here in Liverpool. The schools went off without a hitch and the roads were wet by 10 in the morning. Nice job guys and gals!

I got to work a little later in the day and then went to visit some friends at a local bowling alley to see how they were doing and have a drink. After that I got back to reviewing some old VHS footage I have as I try to figure out how I am going to get that out there so you guys can see it. You are not going to believe what I’ve found. Look out!

Now let’s chat more about what is on the Audio Page for you today starting out with a man who is still trying to figure out his exact plans for the coming season. Barry Kingsley explained why he was out of racing after last year’s season in a small block Super at Oswego, what brought him back and why he will now race 350 Supers weekly.

Lenny Sammons previews next weekend’s TQ Midget indoor race in Syracuse on March 8-9th.
Jim Olin looks ahead to Finger Lakes Speed World coming this Saturday & Sunday in Auburn.

It was another snowy day in Syracuse and it sounds like this latest blast of winter could give us another 3-6 inches of snow. Oh goody!

We had fun last night as we went to RPM Raceway in Syracuse to listen to racer/investor Brandon Kidd give us some basics on what he does and how to invest and then we had Dinosaur BBQ and did some racing on the indoor road course. Thanks to everyone there as I could go there every day. If you have not yet then check out their locations in Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Frank Twing remembers the worse season of his career so far and thinks back on his early racing days.
Josh Coonradt talks about his eight win season in a Pro Stock and a special award he won on Saturday.
Gregg Turner spoke about his move to a Factory Stock and a four week string of bad luck last season.

It was another late start for us on Tuesday as both my kids and my wife each had a two hour delay. The lake effect band stalled just a few miles to our north so you got anywhere from 2 inches to 12 depending on where you lived. At least they didn’t use up those valuable snow days.

I have three good ones for you today as we chat with stock car drivers of various disciplines and backgrounds. They are all really good so I hope you give them a listen. These are all from Monday as I was off yesterday.

I missed bowling for the second week in a row even though I was in the championship match of a mini tournament. My shoulder and neck continue to get better at a quick pace but I knew I was not ready and could have taken serious steps backwards if I had bowled. Give me credit…even a few years ago I would not have done that. Thanks for all your advice Phil and we’ll be back at it again next week.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for today starting with a veteran racer who gets on this website for the first time! I did not know it had been that long since I had spoken with him. Frank Twing remembers the worse season of his career so far, explains how he hurt himself in a crash at Lebanon Valley and thinks back on his early racing days in a ’74 Malibu.

Josh Coonradt talks about his eight win season in a Pro Stock, what he plans to do this coming season and a special award he won on Saturday at the NYSSCA banquet.

Gregg Turner spoke about his move to a Factory Stock from a Sportsman, described exactly what his racecar is compared to other stock cars and remembers a four week string of bad luck last season.
