Brett Tonkin recapped his 1 win season in 2017 and described what he is doing to get ready for 2018.
Tom Coughlin ran down some  highlights from the New York State Stock Car Association banquet.

It was another beautiful day here in Central New York on Sunday and I got to get out and enjoy some of it before getting to work in the studio. We also got to see some racing this past weekend and we hope you either watched the big cars at Daytona or the Midgets at Atlantic City. It’s getting closer by the day guys and gals and will be here before you know it.

I’ll be back at it again today before my day off on Tuesday for bowling and a trip to Cayuga County to check in on some friends. It will be a fun day and one I always look forward to.

Now lets chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a driver who has a good year ahead to look forward to. Brett Tonkin recapped his one win season in 2017 which included some early season motor trouble, described what he is doing to get ready for 2018 and looks ahead to a big day in November.

Tom Coughlin ran down some of the highlights from the New York State Stock Car Association banquet, talked about the benefits of membership and where we can see him in the next few weeks.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Steve Collins talks about the new chassis he picked up on Saturday and a special arrival in June.
Charlie Sandercock won 11 of 23 starts in 2017 and talked about hopes to start his season early.

I got a lot done on Saturday as I recorded four new interviews in the studio with hopes to do the same today. I’ll start the day by watching the end of the Rolex 24 from Daytona and then get to work.

I have a busy week coming up but it will be fun as we begin the next step on our journey. With the skills I’ll pick up in these next few weeks I should be able to start the first video and get better at what it takes to do those and do them right. It’s is gonna be a fun few weeks.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with the only real Doctor in Northeast racing. Steve Collins talks about the new chassis he picked up on Saturday, reflected on his best season yet in 2017 and gets ready for a special arrival in June.

Charlie Sandercock won 11 of 23 starts in 2017 with his Crate Late Model and talked about hopes to start his season early at some tracks to the south as well as his weekly racing up north.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Kyle Inman talked about his championship season and what it was like running about 80 races.
Max Hill described his 1st season in a Late Model and his plans to race the entire season at Fulton.

We had a nice day as the kids had a half day which allowed me to take Allie to RPM Speedway in Destiny USA in Syracuse. She enjoyed it tremendously and if you are Jonesing without racing this is a nice fix to keep you sharp and have some fun. There are locations in Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo so check it out sometime. I know you’ll like it.

I’ll be back at it today as I have two interviews already set up with hopes to a half a dozen if all goes well. And we’ll be back in the studio again tomorrow and Monday while sneaking a look at the 24 hour race from Daytona. Yep, we’re one step closer as of this weekend.

And don’t forget they’re racing indoors in Atlantic City again tonight so if you wanna smell some racefuel that is the place to be. We hope to chat with some of them after the event so look for that. And if you have a request shoot me a text or email and we’ll do our best to get it done for you.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page as we get ready for a few live racing events today. Kyle Inman talked about his championship season and what it was like running about 80 races while racing weekly at three different tracks as well as what he likes about coil cars.

Max Hill described his 1st season in a Late Model, explained some of the stuff he learned along the way and his plans to race the entire season at Fulton.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Dylan Swiernick tells me what he is doing as he gets ready for a 12-15 race season with his 360.
Nick Krause talked about his Sportsman plans for 2018 and wonders if he’ll get a W-16 engine.

We’re back on a Friday with a pair of drivers who compete in two of the most popular forms of racing in New York State. In addition to these I was also able to get a few more done later in the day so I am a little ahead coming into the weekend.

If you missed it, the 24 hours of Daytona is this weekend so the start of your favorite form of racing is right around the corner. I’ll be watching the start and of course the finish on Sunday as it is one of my favorite races of the year. NASCAR could learn from the Continental Tire Series as those are real templates on those stock cars.

I’ll be back in the studio today hoping to get lots done and hoping to get some of the ones done that I had to reschedule. Still doing great here. Happy and on task. Life is good!

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page as we start with a racer who teaches me something about the long term durability of Sprint Car engines. Dylan Swiernick tells me what he is doing as he gets ready for a 12-15 race season with his 360, describes the work he is doing to get his engine ready and explains why they need frequent freshening. I didn’t know that!

Nick Krause talked about his Sportsman plans for 2018, wonders if he’ll get a W-16 engine and makes a prediction on how popular small block racing at Fulton will be.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Donnie Elliott tells me his plans for a new Saturday home after announcing his retirement last year.
Shawn Ward talks about teaming up with Matt Sheppard and runs down where they will be racing.

We have a pair of really good interviews up for you today as we chat with a pair of Modified racers who each will be doing something different this year. One was an email request and the other was at the request of the driver. It took me a little bit on the email request but I finally got it. Thanks for the suggestion Allen!

I’ll be back in the studio after a really nice day off on Tuesday and I’m well rested and ready to go. If you have a request of your own be sure to send it along to me and I’ll do my best to get it done.

And tomorrow we’ll meet with a local Sportsman racer who, like a lot of his fellow drivers, is contemplating the move up to a small block. He’s not the only one either. So look for that and if you’re in the same boat, shoot me a message and we’ll get you in the mix too!

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a driver who just loves what he does for a living!

New on the Audio Page for today:

Joey Ladouceur talked about his second season in a 358 Modified and how tough the move has been.
Stephen Marshall remembered his season in a Sportsman at Fulton and talked about his shop work.

I had a nice day off on Tuesday as it had been two weeks since I’ve been off. I was supposed to take last Tuesday off but I ended up getting calls and when people call, I pick up so it was nice not to have to do anything on Tuesday except some on-line racing to finish out the day.

I have a bunch of stuff set up for today as I’ll be back in the studio and back tapping on the keyboard doing some writing as well. It will be fun and I can’t wait to get back at it as one day off is the most I can stand before I get bored.

Now let’s chat about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with a driver who is hoping his third season in a small block is his best. Joey Ladouceur talked about his second season in a 358 Modified at Cornwall Motor Speedway, how tough the move has been and the new car he is getting ready for 2018.

Stephen Marshall remembered his season in a Sportsman at Fulton and talked about the shop work he is doing now as well as what the move was like from the Novice class.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Tony Veneziano
reports on Sprint Car racing from Australia and gives us some news from the All Stars.
Andrew Smith talks about his eight win season and tells me what the biggest highlight of 2017 was.

I had a nice day on Monday as I got some writing done in the afternoon, an interview at dinner time and then went to see a high school basketball game with my kids. We rooted on Liverpool High School where I went back in the 70’s, where Allie goes now and where my youngest will go in four years. We had a blast. Love the atmosphere of high school sports.

I’ll be off today as I have some things to take care of as we get ready for a busy stretch that actually begins next week not this week as I had originally thought. It’s all good and it helps me get one step closer to my big goal and when we get there the fun will really begin. I can’t wait but know it takes time and know that you can’t skip steps and hope to succeed.

Now let’s chat about what we have for you on the Audio Page as we look ahead to racing that will begin in less than two weeks. Tony Veneziano reports on Sprint Car racing from Australia including a huge upset in the country’s biggest event and gives us some news from the All Stars while looking ahead to their opener next weekend.

Andrew Smith talks about his eight win season and tells me what the biggest highlight of 2017 was as well as the work he is doing to get a new car ready for 2018.
