New on the Audio Page for today:

Kevin Bolland recapped his one win season and talked about his hopes for a new Modified.
Marc Minutolo talked about his race party tomorrow and his Pure Stock Championship.

I had a busy day and a late day on Thursday as I did interviews till just before 11 p.m. as I was able to catch some people who were up late. I got lucky and was able to do four interviews as I had hoped as I need to be ahead for this weekend. People will be busy watching a big football game on Sunday so I need to be able to get ahead so I don’t have to bug anyone before the game.

I had a doctor’s appointment in Auburn (Where I lived for a while, went to college twice and met my wife Camille.) so I made sure to do some driving around town to see what had changed. I also stopped by to see a good friend of mine who I had not seen in several years. He was one of my video game buddies and one heck of a driver on the track back in the day but never got that win. I called a race where they ate him up in the final corner of the last lap going three wide on either side of him as he tried to hold on for his first win. He never had the car or power the big dogs had but he was quite a wheelman back in the 90’s. Good to see you Kenny!

I’ll be very busy again today as I need to get a lot done. I’m going to practice spare shooting in the morning and then I’ll be in the studio this afternoon and tonight. It will be a fun day.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you today on the Audio Page starting with a driver I had not chatted with in over six years. Kevin Bolland recapped his one win season and talked about his hopes for a new Modified as well as some of the advantages to building your own engines. Nice to talk with you Kevin it had been too long!

Marc Minutolo talked about his race party tomorrow (Saturday) at 6 p.m. inside the Newark VFW, his Pure Stock Championship at Canandaigua and his hopes to see some growth in the class in 2017.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Bob Reis talks about Freedom Raceway Park as he enters his third season at the helm.
D.J. Forbes recaps his weekend in Atlantic City and explains what was wrong with his car.

Back today after a great day off on Tuesday. I am re-running the interview with Bob Reis because somehow I made a mistake and it did not air on the day it was intended to. I fixed it, thanks to an email alerting me to the issue, but wanted to make sure you al got the chance to listen to it.

I’m back in the studio today and need to get a lot done as we have a big game on Sunday that I know a lot of you are going to watch.

Also great news for me as I rolled my first career 700 series on Tuesday night. I even had to make a ball change in the 7th frame of the last game to do so. 703 is not my new career high and I cannot wait to get back on the lanes again!

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page as we march into a very busy February. Bob Reis talks about Freedom Raceway Park as he enters his third season at the helm and talks about some changes for 2017 that include adding Modifieds.

D.J. Forbes recaps his weekend in Atlantic City and explains what was wrong with his car at the event as well as his plans to return to the NY6A Tour for 2017.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Josh Hohenforst recapped his two win 2016 season and talked about hitting some new tracks.
Tony Veneziano talked about the Australian Championship and the Motorsports HOF 2017 class.

I had a nice night last night as I did some bowling and some online racing in my standard Tuesday routine. As always it is fun to see many old friends at the lanes and I always make new ones when I bowl. And I do have a big tournament coming up so I need to get working on my game if I am going to have any chance at qualifying.

I have a couple of nice chats up for you today and tomorrow we’ll meet young racer D.J. Forbes as he recaps his weekend in Atlantic City and runs down his plans for the upcoming season. Plus I will be back in the studio today and can’t wait to see who else we’ll have up for you on Thursday.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page starting with a Modified racer who drives for a living during the week. Josh Hohenforst recapped his two win 2016 season, how close he came to winning at his Saturday home and hinted about hitting some new tracks on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tony Veneziano talked about the Australian Championship, who is going into the Motorsports HOF of America’s 2017 class and who this famous sprint car driver will join.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Gary Roberts talks about a new Saturday home and the need for more IMCA Modified venues.
Tony Finch II thanked all the people that helped him after losing a car and more in a trailer fire.

The work week is here and we’re still tracking down drivers to see how things are going as they prepare for the 2017 race season. What a great weekend it was with a photo finish in Atlantic City and a margin of less than a second in a 24 hour race at Daytona. If this past weekend is any indication of what we’ll see this year then we are in for a treat!

As usual I will be off today for bowling and racing but will be back at it again tomorrow in the studio. I just love this time of the year as the excitement in the air is building and Florida is right around the corner. Work hard in the shop racers and get ready as the fun will be here before we know it.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page for Tuesday starting with a man who, like a lot of racers in his shoes, is looking for some more places to race. Gary Roberts talks about a new Saturday home after a pair of local tracks dropped his division, the need for more IMCA Modified venues and offers his thoughts on the indoor racing from Atlantic City.

Tony Finch II thanked all the people that helped him after losing a car and more in a trailer fire, updated us on what he has going on for 2017 as well as the renovated shop they are working on.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Chad O’Hara talks about his new fabrication business and how his racing skills helped at work.
Stephen Denton remembers his 2016 season and talks about his upcoming race at Road Atlanta.

Allie and I had fun yesterday as we watched the end of the Rolex 24 from Daytona. What a story huh? Jeff Gordon and his young teammates got the win in what was one of the best finishes in quite some time.

After that I got to work in the studio and got a few more interviews done before watching the end of the golf. I will be back at it again today and back writing again as we have Atlantic City to talk about. And from what I hear Saturday night’s race indoors was a great one with a photo finish to boot. What a great way for Lenny’s series to end.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with an email request. Chad O’Hara talks about his new fabrication business, how his racing skills helped at work and his hopes to race more in the future. Good one here guys!

Stephen Denton remembers his 2016 season, talks about his upcoming race at Road Atlanta and what he plans to do with his Sportsman in 2017.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Nick Stone talks about his ten win season, his fabrication business and his 2017 race plans.
Wade Chrisman describes his season at Fulton, his new car and why he cut his season short.

I had another real good day on Saturday as I got alot of interviews done in the studio and as I write this up I am going to watch the SU basketball game on the dvr. I know I am just being superstitious but they seem to do better when I don’t watch. We’ll see if that trend continues.

I will be back hard at work today and will be looking for anyone you’d like to hear from. I’ll have a request up tomorrow and hope to et a few more done today. So either send me a message on Facebook or to doug@dougsdirtdiary.com.

Also today I will be sure to check out the end of the Rolex 24 from Daytona. And of course after that we’ll dig out the old Grand Turismo 6 game and turn a few laps at the Daytona road course. It has always been one of my favorites especially the chicane on the backstretch. Hit that right and you’ll be fast. Hit it wrong and you will have to hit the reset button.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page as we begin with one of the northeast’s best stock car racers. Nick Stone talks about his ten win season that saw him victorious at five different tracks, his fabrication business and his 2017 race plan that will a change in Friday’s home.

Wade Chrisman describes his season in a crate Sportsman at Fulton, why he had to get a new car and why he cut his season short in 2016. Nice to have you over Wade let’s do it again soon!

New on the Audio Page for today:

Glenn Forward talked about his five win season and what helped him improve from 2015.
Cody Clark ran down why he switched plans at mid season and the old car that is still fast.

Once again the snow we had predicted was little more than a dusting and was all melted by lunchtime. I hear some of you out there are getting some and in some cases it is piling up so be careful out there guys and gals.

I got a good amount of work done on Friday as I was able to get ahead by one interview and was able to actually do one in the home studio which does not happen much. Look for that chat with Wade Chrisman tomorrow.

I also turned in my application to the Post Standard Masters bowling tournament here in Syracuse. I have never made it into the top 127 for match play but am hopeful that the new ball and new wrist position might be the ticket this time around. I’ll be bowling with a good friend of mine who just shot his 7th perfect game but he has never made the cut either. Wish us well and maybe, just maybe I can make the cut for the first time ever.

Now let’s chat more about what you can listen to on out Audio Page as we kick off the weekend today. Glenn Forward talked about his five win season in a crate Sportsman, what helped him improve from 2015 and how his dirt racing background helps him at work.

Cody Clark ran down why he switched plans at mid season, why he had to switch to an older car and how well that old car that used to be in the weeds did when he needed it.
