We had a fun night as Allie and I headed to Fonda Speedway for a Short Track Super Series race and each of us were working on the MAV-TV crew. I was color commentator with my good friend Paul Szmal while Allie was a Production Assistent in charge of the in-car cameras. It was the first time we'd worked togther and both Allie and I had a great time although I think she may be enjoyed it even more than me. She said she loved being right there working with the teams.
It was quite the race too as Stewart Friesen came from a flat tire while leading on lap 31 and passed Matt Sheppard in the final corner as the checkered flag waved to take the win and the $10,000 first place prize. The crowd went wild and victory lane was packed wirth well wishers and fans. Yeah, it was quite the race.
Since I was also helping the crew in the pits I was limited in what I could do so I did only get three pre-race chats before things got going. I did my heat race interviews after the TV crew and was able to get three more after the race. Today will be different however as I'll be at Land of Legends Raceway for a 100 lap Super DIRTcar Series race and race number two of five for the Empire Super Sprints as they compete in Speedweek.
I'll have a lot more tomorrow and I will be back there on Saturday as well. I know weather could be an issue so those plans could change if the Saturday forecast goes south. If that does like the case I may swing to Brewerton on Friday or maybe add a Sunday instead. We'll see I guess.
I hope you all have a great Fourth of July and I hope you get to see as much racing as you want this weekend. I'll see you tomorrow guys and gals.

We had a nice day as we did some work in the studio and watched a lot of summer league basketball. In between Allie got in some I-Racing laps with our friend Jeff Barker and the afterwards she worked out and shot some hoops as her summer camp for the Liverpool Girls teams is in three weeks. Yeah, we got a lot goin in.
Today we'll be on the road to Fonda for the Firecracker 50. Its going to be a MAV-TV race and I'm gonna be on it. Cool right? I've always wanted to do one of those. Then on Thursday it's off to Land of Legends Raceway for a Super DIRTCar Series/ESS double header. Talk about fun right?

Scott Gauthier talks about his victory in the Nostalgia class as the DMNT visited Plattsburgh Airborne.

I spent a good part of the day catching up on chores before heading to the hospital to see Webmaster Andy. We're still hoping for a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back on his feet and back on two wheels again soon. We love you Andy and we're praying for the best outcome possible.
Of course this has hit me hard too as it is a reminder to all of us how fargle our lives are. One oops can change your life forever or worse. Take care of yourselves and treasure each day. I mean how fortunate are a lot of us to be a part of a sport than is so misunderstood by those who have not participated in it. If you're a part of it, thank your lucky stars and never forget how fortunate you are. And seeing some of those kids at the Children's Hospital will break your heart.
But enough about that for now as it makes me so depressed so let's talk more about the new stuff we have for you to listen to today on the Audio Page starting out with a conversation from Thursday night in Fulton. | New on the Audio Page with clips from Saturday at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway:
Bobby Herrington talked about his hopes for Fulton last Thursday and 109 versus 112 octane fuel.
Lance Willix recapped his Wednesday at Can Am and looked ahead to racing Monday in Plattsburgh.
Thomas Placey explains how changing his line late helped him win the DMNT feature at Airborne.
Robby Knowles previews today's 10K to win Super DIRTcar Series at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway.
How nice was Sunday right? Well at least it was here in Liverpool. It was in the low 70's and felt nice after some hot weather last week.
I spent the day relaxing after a long day on Saturday that saw Allie and I log nearly 500 miles. And when you figure in the laps she took at Plattsburgh on their half mile track that may have put us over the 500 mile mark. It was a great drive up as we chose the scenic way up route 8 and through the Adirondacks. I had not been up that way since the early 2000's and it was very relaxing.
We stopped at an Inn in Pleasent Lake for lunch. (Very well named by the way as it sure looked pretty pleasent to me.) We made it to the track at about 4:15 and found out that weather was on the way and as time wore on it became more and more evident that we were gonna have to hustle.
They ran our hot laps and heats first and went right into our feature. It was our best feature race so far as Thomas Placey came from third to first late for the win. All four of our shows with the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour have been the same but we have beaten Mother Nature all four times except for the rainout at Utica Rome that happened before we even left the house.
I'll have more on that in a Doug's Thoughts tomorrow and I'll be sure to do a Facebook Live with Allie today. I tred to do one at the track but I guess the signal was not strong enough and it did not come out. I'll be at Fonda on Wednesday for a MAV-TV race and then at Land of Legends Raceway on Thursday for a Super DIRTcar Series big block race. It's gonna be a fun week.
Now let's chat more about what is on the Audio Page for today with a pair of drivers who will be racing later today at the same track we were at on Saturday night. Bobby Herrington talked about his hopes for Fulton Speedway's 358 Series race last Thursday night, described a motor issue they had and the differences he notices between 109 and 112 fuel. You can learn something here guys!
Lance Willix recapped his Wednesday night at Can Am as well as his weekly homes and looked ahead to a day off on Saturday and some Super DIRTcar Series racing Monday on in Plattsburgh. That's today guys!
Thomas Placey explains how changing his line late helped him came from third to win the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour feature at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway, wished his dad a happy birthday and explained what he did to make his Modified unique.
Robby Knowles previews today's 10K to win Super DIRTcar Series at Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway, describes some work they did to the track and recaps the story of how the track changed from asphalt to clay three years ago.

Matt Janczuk is batting almost .500 on the season and talked about racing at three different tracks.
Jessica Power tells me about his Sportsman win Wednesday night at Can Am and her season so far.
I hope you all are having a great Sunday and without the tracks running today I hope you find something fun to do. We were on the road late into the morning so I wrote this up on Friday night to make sure you had stuff to listen to today.
Tomorrow I'll have audio up from last night's trip to Plattsburg so be sure to look for that as I'm sure we had a great time at a new track. We'll be at Fonda this Wednesday for a Short Track Super Series race and then at Land of Legends on Thursday night for a Super DIRTcar Series race. Nice thing there is that should allow me to catch up with some folks I have not seen in a while. Very cool!
Now let's chat more about what's going on today on the Audio Page with a young Modified racer and two Sportsman drivers who have visited victory lane this season. Ronnie Davis III gives himself a grade for the first half of the regular season and talked about how things have gone since his win on opening night and how his small block has been specifically at Fulton.
Matt Janczuk is batting almost .500 on the season winning in nearly half of his Sportsman starts and talked about racing at three different tracks while giving himself a grade on how he has been doing so far.
Jessica Power tells me about his Sportsman win Wednesday night at Can Am, how she knew how much of a lead she had while up front and evaluates her season so far while a coupe of members of her crew join in.

Allie and I will be on the road today to a new track while my wife and youngest will stay local for a concert up at SU. Katie is quite the busy girl and she and her mom should have a great day on the hill. My wife played an instrument too while I had no musical ability whatsoever.
Airborne is a place I have never been to and I can't wait to see the place in person as I have heard so many things about it. We have our route planned, the bad is packed and we are as ready as we can be. We're gonna split the place up with a trip to a diner in the Fonda area so if you have any suggestions please feel free to pass them on. We look forward to meeting some new people and having fun at what I hear is quite the facility.
I'll have more stuf from Thursday night up tomorrow as who knows how late it will be when we get back so look for stuff from tonight on Monday...ok?
