New on the Audio Page for today:

Danny Bouc talks about his hopes to get out two more times and his rough start at New Egypt.
Tyler Cartier reviews his season in a 305 at Land of Legends and his plans to move up to a 360.

As I type this up I am getting ready to take my youngest out trick or treating here in suburban Liverpool. This is a great neighborhood to get candy in and we take it seriously. She’ll get a pillow case full of candy as you can get a lot done here in two hours.

We hope all of you who were out with your kids last night were safe and stayed dry. As of 5 p.m. the rain has stopped and we’re hoping it holds off for three more hours. I have a pair of interviews to do when I get back and then we’ll have some fun watching a great basketball documentary on ESPN.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for today starting with a driver who still has a few races left to go in 2018. Danny Bouc talks about his hopes to get out two more times this season, runs down the two different cars he has driven this year and his very rough start at New Egypt.

Tyler Cartier reviews his season in a 305 at Land of Legends Raceway, his final race of the year at Brockville Ontario Speedway and his plans to move up to a 360 Sprint for 2019.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Gary Tomkins reviews his 2018 race season and talks about the stacked weekly field in Brewerton.
Joe Marotta shares some memories of the mile at Syracuse and the legacy of DIRT’s Glenn Donnelly.

We finally got to see some sun on Tuesday and it was nice enough to actually be outside for a while. I hope you got to do the same as it was the first nice day we have had in a while. Let’s hope it stays that way for trick or treating tonight.

I got a lot done both before and after bowling although what happened on the lanes is not worth discussing here. It’s been rough! But I need to keep things in perspective and realize that what happens there means nothing.

I was upset coming in as a good friend lost his wife suddenly on Tuesday morning. It is beyond sad as young kids are involved too so my prayers and best wishes go out to everyone involved. Hug your loved ones today and count your blessings. We are all truly fortunate to be here.

Now let’s chat more about what is new for today on the Audio Page as we chat with a really good Season in Review. Gary Tomkins reviews his 2018 race season in a big block Modified and talks about the stacked weekly field in Brewerton while tackling the six questions.

Joe Marotta shares some memories of the mile at Syracuse and the legacy of DIRT’s Glenn Donnelly while describing his hopes for the future of a big project in CNY.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Tim Pitts talks about Eastern States and reminds me how he first got into announcing at racetracks.
Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series this past weekend at Port Royal.

It was yet another cold and rainy day on Monday so I stayed inside, got some work done and chatted with a lot of folks. I have one of those chats up today with more to follow tomorrow as I hope to take a Tuesday off to bowl and watch some NBA with Allie.

I got a nice response from my Doug’s Thoughts yesterday as I described The Climb and how dedicated racecar drivers are to what they do. That right there is the biggest thing I think that my oldest daughter Allie got from this past few years as well as the mental discipline it takes to handle the ups and downs of racing. I hope you liked it.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page today starting with a friend I had not spoken to in years. Tim Pitts talks about Eastern States at Orange County Fair Speedway, describes some recent things he has had to deal with away from racing and reminds me how he first got into announcing at racetracks.

Tony Veneziano reports on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series this past weekend at Port Royal, tells me about the racy track on Sunday while giving us some news from the 410 Sprint Car world.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Craig Pritchard explains why he put a crate engine in his Sportsman and what he is thinking now.
In my latest Doug’s Thoughts I talk about The Climb and how impressed I am with racecar drivers.

Winter is almost here and the past few days have been nothing short of miserable here with cold and rain. And of course we know what is right around the corner and it is not just the snow and cold its stupid daylight savings time. Why do we roll the clocks back every fall so it gets dark before 5 o’clock? I never understood that at all.

So enjoy this last week of driving home in the light and embrace and cold and darkness that is winter. Ugh. As far as I am concerned it should be 85 degrees every day but I know what’s not possible. Again…ugh.

Now let’s keep our minds on racing and what is new on the Audio Page starting with a driver who has a choice to make for next season. Craig Pritchard explains why he put a crate engine in his Sportsman, how much he was looking forward to trying it out this past weekend and what he is thinking now as he looks to 2019.

In my latest Doug’s Thoughts I talk about what I call The Climb, how it influences every aspect of every racer’s life and how impressed I am with what it takes to be a racecar driver.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Andrew Ferguson reviews his season in a Modified and talks about some upgrades for 2019.
Frank Nortz talked about the racing last year at Adirondack International and previews 2019.

It was another rainy day in Central New York and that caused a rainout at Utica Rome and a delayed the action at Charlotte. I got a lot of work done in the studio and will do the same tomorrow.

We had fun again last night as I went out to watch the SU game and the World Series game at the same time. Having two tvs to watch would be fun and as I type this up I am just getting ready to go out with an old friend of mine.

Now let’s chat more about what is new on the Audio Page for Sunday as we hopefully get a rain free day today. Andrew Ferguson reviews his year in a Modified and talks about some upgrades for 2019 while tackling the six questions in this season in review interview.

Frank Nortz talked about the racing last year at Adirondack International Speedway, explained why the track was dark for so long and previews 2019.

New on the Audio Page for today:

David Schilling talked about time trialing on the pole in Charlotte and changes he made right before.
Kyle Inman told me how he ended up fifth fastest in Charlotte and the cool stuff he did on Friday.
Dave Marcuccilli ran down how he did in time trials and talked about winning an indoor kart race.

I saw that racing down in Charlotte was rained out so I got right to work tracking down some of the racers who were down there. Everyone I got from Friday is up today and boy is today going to be a busy one as they are now going to squeeze in two of racing in just one day. Sounds like what we did a few weeks ago doesn’t it?

After I got done with work we actually went out as some of my wife’s high school friends from Fulton got together at a local establishment. I was the DD so they could have some fun so I drank OJ and water all night while enjoying some bar food. It was fun!

I’ll be back in the studio today and tomorrow we’ll meet someone new as I have an update from Adirondack International Speedway on what they did this past season and what lies ahead. I think you’ll like it. That one was a request and I do take those seriously so if I have not gotten to your favorite race person yet please send me a message on Facebook or in email form at doug@dougsdirtdiary.com.

Now let’s chat more about what we have for you on the Audio Page starting with my first phone call on Friday afternoon. David Schilling talked about time trialing on the pole in Charlotte and how some adjustment they made right before heading out helped as what he did with his rainout day on Friday.

Kyle Inman told me how he ended up fifth fastest in Charlotte, how a change they did at Super DIRT Week helped him in the corners and the cool stuff he did on Friday afternoon.

Dave Marcuccilli ran down how he did in time trials in Charlotte and talked about winning an indoor kart race against some of his competitors as well as what some of the chat was afterwards.

New on the Audio Page for today:

Ryan Jordan talks about racing one more time this season at Outlaw and the need for some upgrades.
Justin St. Louis ran down how the season went at Devil’s Bowl as they switched back to a dirt surface.

It was another busy day on Thursday and I did hear reports of some snow in our area. It was gone by the time I hit the bus stop with Katie so since I didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. Right? Cool!

I got some work done in the studio and said goodbye to my brother in-law and his wife as we took them to the airport to head back to California. It was great to have them here and hopefully they will be back again next year so they can see our world and hit the dirt track. Keep your fingers crossed.

Now let’s chat more about what we have on the Audio Page as we welcome someone new to the website from not to far away from where I was born. Ryan Jordan talks about racing one more time this season at Outlaw and the need for some upgrades with his small block program while telling me how happy he is with his two chassis.

Justin St. Louis ran down how the season went at Devil’s Bowl Speedway as they switched back to a dirt surface, analyzed how each of the weekly divisions did and looks ahead to 2019. Welcome aboard Justin!
